We are going down a terrible path in this country. The rate at which the far left are taking hold and implementing their agenda is nothing short of astonishing.

Seems that you are not very objective about this story. Where's the research regarding how this network news time is being paid for?

Btw, it is only ABC.......that's ONE option from hundreds to watch on TV. You can sound the alarm when ALL networks and ALL cable news "donate" time for the President to have programming to explain any issue or legislation he supports.

Another way to look at this is, at least you will KNOW the President's side of the issue. It won't be like the tight-lipped, dark, and secretive side of the Bush Admininstration.

Didn't seem to bother you that Dubya/Cheney were "bed buddies" with FOX news.

Extreme Nationalism is very dangerous. Google that and see how it relates to Germany during the time of Hitler's rise to power.

What part of "opposing views rejected" do you not understand? And you're coming at me with "objective" BS? Get real.

Please explain, what is that "terrible path." Can you give some details? How does the situation differ now from when the "far right" had control and implemented their agenda?

I'm especially interested in your definition of a "terrible path" and what specifically are some examples which you can cite which would give the rest of us some idea of what you're talking about.

Wow.
Hello state run media (which we have been suspecting but is now becoming really blatant).

Also don't forget..... The show on ABC a couple weeks ago called Earth 2100.
Watch 'Earth 2100' June 2 at 9 p.m. - ABC News

Saw about 5 minutes of the middle of it - could not watch it, just seemed too propaganda. Another poster said Obama's voice was on at some point and it made him sound like he saved the world.

Quote:
Since Earth 2100 was a two-hour, left-wing, Obama commercial complete with an early talking head appearance by the president, ABC Turns to Doomsday Propaganda to Push Global Warming Solutions (http://www.businessandmedia.org/articles/2009/20090603093737.aspx - broken link)

Looks like the majority of Americans were not buying it either - See Neilsen ratings at Overnight TV Ratings, Nielsen Ratings, Tuesday, June 2, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Hitched or Ditched, Mental, The Mentalist, NCIS, Inside The Obama White House, Law & Order: SVU, 48 Hours Mystery.

In the 9pm slot, the Mentalist (repeat) was the winner (10.829) while Earth 2100 got 3.874.
In the 10pm slot, Law & Order: SVU (finale) was the winner (11.336); a repeat of 48 Hours Mystery got 7.789, and Earth 2100 got 3.555.

This is what you voted for right? You are happy about the continuation of many Bush administration policies right? You are happy Obama has brought a change to the politics of old to Washington right?

Obama blocks access to White House visitor list - White House- msnbc.com

The Obama administration is fighting to block access to names of visitors to the White House, taking up the Bush administration argument that a president doesn't have to reveal who comes calling to influence policy decisions.
Despite President Barack Obama's pledge to introduce a new era of transparency to Washington, and despite two rulings by a federal judge that the records are public, the Secret Service has denied msnbc.com's request for the names of all White House visitors from Jan. 20 to the present. It also denied a narrower request by the nonpartisan watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which sought logs of visits by executives of coal companies.

Here's the difference:

Broadcast news is made possible by PUBLIC airwaves. Networks are given the opportunity to make money off of these airwaves provided that they also provide "common good programming" (ie. presidential debates, etc.) When broadcast news networks exhibit extreme bias, they are approaching the outer limits of "common good programming." Cable news networks operate on no such philosophy or limitations.

If these extreme biases don't bother you now, what would you say if the bias was in the other direction. Didn't think about that did you? No surprise there. Network news being in bed with the President is not good for any of us.

What part of the BELOW quote from the letter written by the GOP do you not understand. Key words......"In the absence of opposition, I am concerned"

What part of "If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers" do you not understand. The person who wrote this letter is saying "IF" meaning that he either doesn't know whether or not the time is being paid for by the DNC, or he does know the answer about whether or not the time is being paid for and he just wants to give a wrong impression and get people upset.

Can anyone verify whether or not the airtime will be "free"???

Check out the very last line of the paragraph:

Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime."

If the guy who wrote the letter knew for sure that the DNC was not paying for the airtime, why didn't he SAY THAT? I just like for the "loose ends" to be tied up before making a decision. The person writing this letter did a good CYA in the last paragraph. They put that paragraph in there so they will not be liable for putting out false information.

QUOTE FROM THE LETTER CONTAINED IN THE LINK IN THE OP:

"In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime."
