Gender identity has NO ROLE in deciding who I think would be a good leader, in a political sense.

Depends on whether or not I agree with their policies.

Their sexuality doesn't matter to me.

Their stances on the issues do.

If that was a comment directed at me, since you quoted me, you couldn't be more wrong about me. Yes, I'm tired of their in-your-face tactics both politically and otherwise. That in no way means I'm homophobic.

By the way, a phobia is defined as an irrational fear that produces a conscious avoidance of the feared subject, activity, or situation.

I fear nothing and certainly not homosexuals. They're no threat to me whatsoever. There are just some things in life I don't care for. In this context I simply think that tunnel vision politics are inappropriate.

Again, if that was directed to me you couldn't be more wrong. My daughter knows that my feelings on the subject are based upon my faith but are certainly no deterrant to accepting her and her partner as a part of our family, and an important one.

I would have no problem with it if I agreed with their policies.

Faith is optional. Subscribing to religious based intolerance is optional.
I'm sick of people saying, "Well my religion....". Sexual orientation is not chosen but religion sure as hell is.

You can have your own definition of a word, but that doesn't mean it's the only definition. For decades, "homophobia" has been defined as an irrational fear or contempt for homosexuality. Random House, American Heritage, and Merriam-Webster's all define it this way.

And that differs from my definition how? Both definitions are based upon fear.

Is that really all you have?

That speaks volumes about the thought process going on here...

What does being gay have to do with decision making or how well someone can entertain?

You can't argue faith. Someone either has it or they don't.
