So far all I read is that Building codes for new construction will be updated to greener standards... nothing about it even being mandatory.

Why do you believe it if you can't provide me with the text from the bill?
Jump to post 18 of this thread and find lots of quotation marks that usually are used to show quotation. Try real hard on this one.

1285 hours? Let me explain something to you:

If you're referring to the quote below, you should probably know that from 1248 hours to 1255 hours equals...7 minutes, not 1285 hours:

Cap and Trade Cyanide: The Constitution « The Climate Heretic
"It took me from 1248 Hours to 1255 Hours to load the bill"

Military time...Google it.

I guess state's rights mean nothing anymore. The federal government passes laws and then holds the states hostage with threats to cut off their federal funding of mandated programs.

This bill will be akin to what special education regulation did to education. If you don't comply with constantly shifting regulatory language you risk losing your federal funding. The same thing goes with state aid during this downturn. States must agree to take on essentially permanent extra layers of regulators (paid for by state funds) if they want aid.

Hopefully some states will just say no and refuse to comply. Unfortunately I don't think it will by my home state of Connecticut because I'm sure Senator Dodd will be jumping on the bandwagon so that the Democratic party will come to his rescue for his unacceptable behavior which contributed to the financial meltdown of the banking system. Our only hope is Senator Lieberman, a man without a party, who was a supporter of the last cap and trade proposals.

Same questions I had. What about states' rights? Does the current administration have a new version of the Constitution written that they plan to add on as an amendment in the wee hours of the morning any time soon?

Scary!

Here it is in black and white. Get ready to be ill. The federal govt will now own you and your home. You are now completely under their control. Good going Obama voters..nice job.

I believe post #26 contains what you're looking for, courtesy of David. Be careful not to criticize Chairman Maobama, these forums have ears.

"The federal govt will now own you and your home."

Speaking of moronic comments. Sheer paranoia.

Neither you nor I, nor anyone else on this forum has read the 900+ page bill. Let's not play make-believe.

So, which part of the constitution did congress twist and pervert to justify this latest act of treason? The commerce clause? General welfare?
