Wow, these threads are nothing but a giant circle jerk. People defending global warming and climate change have just stopped even bothering to post any more.

What is bad is that even scientist are scrabbling for funding from government these days and conclude things to justify the grants.

Shoot...I'm sorry...I should have changed this title to "climate change". Or, is the term du jour something else now?
Why are you copying t&c89 with the "its cold therefore no global warming" nonsense?
Is there an ignorance contest going on?
A contest for who is the biggest laughing stock?

And I'll mention again, that the moniker (global warming, climate change) has changed twice in more than 150 years.

Is that shocking to you?
That scientists have more knowledge than 150 years ago?

The CO2 is dispersed into the atmosphere evenly over time and trees will eventually consume it. The concentrations are nowhere near problematic, and there is no evidence of greenhouse gas runaway effects as they have not been reliably reproduced in controlled situations.

As a member of academia, I know full well how presenting a backdrop of doom can be lucrative in the context of your grant proposals getting accepted.
Not even in theory we know percentages. We can oly postulate is that there is climate change that is man made, yet we do not put down to what extent. What we do know is that there is a component that is man made. Of course it can be lucrative, however, there is FAR more money in proposing that there is no climate change.

Again, the grant proposals are of little significance. Oil money is much larger and more powerful. As is heavy manufacturing, hell, even banking. There are more powers that be that have a vested interest in dismissing or reducing the claims of climate change.

There's a world of difference between conservationist and environmentalist, however.
