Jeffrey Deskovic heard a TV talk show host announce President Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court last month, and his mind raced. That name; he remembered that name.
Without a doubt she will be confirmed.. Sadly though nobody has mentioned her ties to La Raza.. She is an ethnocentric.. but she will bring balance to a Supreme Court with highly conservative justices such as Scalia and Thomas..
That said, it always seems "funny" that both the Democrats and Republicans pander to get voters using the whole "If this person wins, THIS type of person (Extreme Conservative or Liberal) will be on the Supreme Court", when in actuality it seems the more liberal justices on the Supremes retire during a Democratic Administration and the more Conservative justices seem to retire during a Republican Administration..
I also find it funny how the media is making it sound as if those criticizing Future Justice Sotomayor's statements or decisions are "attacking" her... Uh.. I thought we were supposed to have checks and balances?.. I mean, this confirmation hearing is like a job interview.. The panel are asking questions to see if she is a "good fit" for the job..
Many of us have a bad feeling about these Republicans for years...
Saganista, if you are a true thinking person rather than a recording, I encourage you to stop and do what I did several years ago. I encourage you to instead of talking, start asking questions. Ask, don't assume, for if you do, you might not become a Republican, but you won't be a Democrat ever again, if you are now.

A thinking person would have recognized the tit-for-tat inherent in the earlier post. Sorry you missed it...

That's so the sitting president of their political party can appoint their replacement, ideally, to them, from that same party.
This would be the case where Judge Sotomayor ruled strictly on the law, rather than inject her personal feelings into the matter? That case?
Nice of you to bring it up.
