Emergency healthcare s/b a right, paid for by our tax dollar. Use the billions you are wasting tracking and arresting pot smokers, and torturing suspects in secret prisons, and use it to pay for my hernia operation if I need it.

I would be in agreement with your idea of basicly a free medical card for everyone, only if they severely curtail what the medical card can buy. I have seen such abuse in the Medicaid/Medicare system. Expensive ongoing treatments for dialysis, cancer, rehab, etc would NOT be covered, only emergency care - like you just got shot or you fell off a building, and only minimal, generic drugs. If you would die without the extended care, then say a prayer and pull the plug. Reality and harshness sometimes intertwine. Preventive care, which has proven to be extremely cost effective, would be provided. From there the government and private plans could step up their coverage, and people could buy what they wanted. Bottom line, businesses would not have to provide any coverage at all if they chose not to, nor would individuals have to purchase additional coverage, just don't cry about the level of 'free' care later.

Yes...

It would save everyone money, in the long run.

Sadly, so many people are too ignorant, too blind and too brainwashed to see that and there's too much mistrust in the federal government.

here is a solution. only registered democrats will pay the taxes to pay for government health care. bet you would have a lot of people leaving the party. democrats don't like it when it comes to their money. that's why so many of them are tax cheats.

Most of the scandals (cheating in some form or other), have been by the Repubs the past 8 years, so check your facts, and the only reason you would 'marry yourself' is because no one else would.

I don't agree that one person has a right to another persons property.

I have a right to give it but you don't have a right to take it.

Hey guy, do you pay taxes? Then you would get free basic healthcare, just like someone with no kids subsidizing public schools, the difference being you may actually need the healthcare at some point.
