Editor's note: Rock guitarist Ted Nugent has sold more than 30 million albums. He's also a gun rights activist and serves on the board of directors of the National Rifle Association. His program, "Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild," can be seen on the Outdoor Channel.

Read an opposing take on gun control from journalist Tom Plate: Let's lay down our right to bear arms

WACO, Texas (CNN) -- Zero tolerance, huh? Gun-free zones, huh? Try this on for size: Columbine gun-free zone, New York City pizza shop gun-free zone, Luby's Cafeteria gun-free zone, Amish school in Pennsylvania gun-free zone and now Virginia Tech gun-free zone.

Anybody see what the evil Brady Campaign and other anti-gun cults have created? I personally have zero tolerance for evil and denial. And America had best wake up real fast that the brain-dead celebration of unarmed helplessness will get you killed every time, and I've about had enough of it.

Nearly a decade ago, a Springfield, Oregon, high schooler, a hunter familiar with firearms, was able to bring an unfolding rampage to an abrupt end when he identified a gunman attempting to reload his .22-caliber rifle, made the tactical decision to make a move and tackled the shooter.

This if nothing else is why I support the NRA. With out them are guns would probably be already gone!! People don't realize the world we face and angry out of control people in the world will do what it takes with or with out a gun.

At least if they know someone they face in any situation might have a gun for protection they will think again. Unless, they are ready to die that day!!
The day we stop supporting the very ones that fight for our gun rights will be the start of NO GUNS and CRIMINAL & GANG control over the people!!

Not a fan of the NRA on some of their stances, but I'm glad all the same we have them, seeing that lobbyists flaunting their flawed stats and politicans willing to eat it up in order to buy votes are all over the place and the end result are stupid laws and less freedoms every day. Without the NRA, we'd already have DC's recently overturned universal firearms ban passed in 1976, a nation-wide reality.

Being the son, grandson, brother and cousin of a law enforcement office I can say that the persons who commit crime have no respect for the law. No law ever stopped a crime from happening. For many people a hand gun is the last measure they can protect themselves in a world people think they have the freedom to do anything, including killing you and me.
