Forced sterilization crosses a line. I don't think it's appropriate (not to mention that it's likely unconstitutional). That said, people who do this sort of thing should never be let out of prison. That would make sterilization unnecessary.
I agree with you... if she's in prison or prison mental facility, she won't need to be sterilized. I don't like the idea of going down the sterilization road....

I posted a post awhile ago where a man was high on meth and tore out one of his son's eye's and ate it and tried to tear the other one out and eat that one.
Should people who do this be precluded from having children in the future?
I beleive in giving people second chances but in cases like this, a second chance could end with the same result for an innocent child.

Oh yeah, she should've been sterilized long before this. Now she gets to stay in prison where the tax payers pay for her putrid life. She should've killed herself.

True enough unfortunately.... but then I don't think she would be able to keep the baby....
Trouble with the sterilization policy is where's the line?
I know that question arises with other issues but I don't see a big requirement to introduce this one.

Exactly
Rapes in prisons and other institutions need to be addressed and taken very, very seriously (they should NEVER happen), but that's a completely different subject. The point is that, even if she were to become pregnant, she would not be allowed to keep and harm the child.
