This is pretty baffling.

Ordinary citizens objecting to the proposed healthcare reform are being demonized, are being dismissed as plants from insurance companies, the GOP, etc., Pelosi says they are carrying swastikas, and on and on. Any suggestion that they are ordinary citizens opposed to the HC reform or that it's a grassroots campaign is berated.

Today, Obama sent an email to supporters calling on them to take action. The email has some pretty strong connotations in it.

Curious to see how other interpret this email.

Since govt info is public record, I believe an email from the President follows the exceptions of copyright of govt publications so the following is OK.

Quote:
This is the moment our movement was built for.

For one month, the fight for health insurance reform leaves the backrooms of Washington, D.C., and returns to communities across America. ...... the voices they hear will not belong to lobbyists, but to people like you.

Home is where we're strongest. ......And if you're willing to step up once again, that's exactly where we're going to win this historic campaign for the guaranteed, affordable health insurance that every American deserves.

There are those who profit from the status quo, or see this debate as a political game, and they will stop at nothing to block reform. They are filling the airwaves and the internet with outrageous falsehoods to scare people into opposing change. And some people, not surprisingly, are getting pretty nervous. So we've got to get out there, fight lies with truth, and set the record straight.

That's why Organizing for America is putting together thousands of events this month where you can reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make certain your members of Congress know that you're counting on them to act.

But these canvasses, town halls, and gatherings only make a difference if you turn up to knock on doors, share your views, and show your support. So here's what I need from you: .........

So yes, fixing this crisis will not be easy. Our opponents will attack us every day for daring to try. It will require time, and hard work, and there will be days when we don't know if we have anything more to give. But there comes a moment when we all have to choose between doing what's easy, and doing what's right.

This is one of those times. And moments like this are what this movement was built for. So, are you ready?

Please commit now to taking at least one action in your community this month to build support for health insurance reform:

Let's seize this moment and win this historic victory for our economy, our health and our families.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

The Nazis supported universal healthcare. So Pelosi and Obama must be carrying the swastikas.

So he'd dismissing any disagreement as lobbyist efforts ? Does he think no American is against this ?
I guess there is no compromise..his way or the highway.

I disagree with this bill so I'm a "paid AMA lobbyist-loving hired domestic terrorist" ?
No, I'm just a voting American citizen who disagrees with the current bill in Congress.
I agree we need reform but I disagree that the bloated bill in Congress is the answer.

They couldn't get "crappin' traitor" passed so they re-engineered this plan of saying all opponents to a MASSIVE overcomplicated bill are necessarily domestic terrorists.

Isn't it amazing. Only obama's supporters are somehow worthy of respect and recognition, while those that oppose his massive government expansion plans are demonized as plants, mobs and nuts.

Where is this post-partisanship we were promised by this fraudulent bamboozler?

Why is the Left not demonized and targeted for organizing while the right is accused even when nothing of the kind has happened?

The hypocrisy is once again breathtaking.

I guess it went out the door soon after Republicans became the party of Just Say No- To Everything.

Republicans had a chance to work together to come up with a bi-partisan healthcare reform option, but they've insisted on being the party of Just Say No- To Everything for the past seven months. Republicans haven't been interested in offering any real, workable solutions to most of the issues that've been put on the table. Now we have the angry mobs disrupting town hall meetings to discuss the public healthcare option, and making it impossible for anyone else to get a word (or question/answer) in edgewise.

Obama makes no secret about wanting the public option passed. The people that voted him into office want it passed, too. Since Republicans refuse to have peaceful, civil discussions and negotiations about it and/or alternative options, at this point I guess he's simply counting on Dems who support the public option to get it passed with or without Republican support.

Although it's not the ideal situation, it seems to be a you-had-your-chance-and-blew-it-so-step-aside-please-while-we-get-it-done-without-you kind of a thing.

What strong connotations? This is all true.

Do you mean "And some people, not surprisingly, are getting pretty nervous"?

That's the only reference I see to regular citizens like those protesting in town halls.

This is so sad he is using his followers this way! He is really using Chicago thuggery isn't he! That boy is in for a rude awakening. I'll bet his little world is spinning right about now and the desperation is starting to show! He is a pathetic excuse for a man and everything one should not be as a President.
