you know the one, the pull-quote from his meaningless TH today, the one about the Post Office in competition with FedEx and UPS.

Power Line - Does Linda Douglass know about this? part 2

Quote:
Obama said. "They do it all the time," according to Obama. "UPS and FedEx are doing just fine.... It's the Post Office that's always having problems."

What an argument. While the President sells citizens on his "post office" health care plan, the Heritage Foundation offers a few questions to consider:
Great questions - here's two;

Quote:
1.) The U.S. Post Office is the only entity allowed by federal law to deliver first class mail to your mailbox. In fact, Fedex and UPS are strictly prohibited from delivering "non-urgent" letters. If the government can fairly compete and is setting fair rules, wouldn't the post office be open to competition at your mailbox?
Quote:
3.) The Post Office is on track to lose a staggering $7 billion this year alone. How will a government-run health care plan manage taxpayer resources more efficiently?
Whatever happened to the saying of "do no harm" at pressers, town halls, ect, ect?

Every time he opens his mouth, he sticks both feet in.

Be careful or you will be labeled an agent of Fed Ex and AARP will accuse you of being a lying lobbyist trying to block non urgent mail reform.

Are you saying that you haven't needed to use the post office during your life?

Heck, even insurance companies like to use the postal service so that they can mail the policy cancellations.

The Post office being in trouble has nothing to do with the Govt. It is because we use emails or pay our bills through the bank or have paperless bills. All of these reasons and more are why the post is declining drastically, so not the Govts fault but our own fault.

If the post office were run like a real business it would have changed course offered other services and cut back on services before they were $7 billion in the hole.

Would that be General Motors, Chrysler, or AIG?

This is funny. How many people would actually trust the USPS with urgent mail?

The reason the PO is failing is because it offers slow and poor service. UPS and Fedex both offer freight service. Fedex can have a contract in a client's hand on the opposite coast the very next morning while the PO can't get priority mail across town in 3 days. The PO's service is essentially a $5 value for only $29.95. UPS can deliver 10 pallets of supplies to my house but The USPS can't handle anything over 80" long or weighing more than a single person can lift easily. I think it's something like 70 lbs. but don't quote me on that.

It's all about mismanagement.

Why would you ask Obama a question if you think all his answers are lies?

Why don't you just post a thread titled "I Hate Obama".....then you can skip all the silly ones like "Obama uses Teleprompter, the Instrument of the Devil, Proving Blah, Blah, Blah...." and a thread discussing the relationship between the PO and health care...a GIANT issue ...LOL!....

Actually, if they were a real American business they'd be in need of a bailout.
