I wasn't a Bush fan, but BO's 'elitist' quality definitely disturbs me.

This stupid statement makes just as much sense as most thing you post..!
YOu must be talking to someone else, because your answer makes no sense to what I said...
I will just chalk it up to you being a democrat with limited amount of thought process...

That was my first thought too. And my second thought was, why on earth would anybody vote for someone like that. I feel sorry for anyone that voted for him the day they realize how much harm they have caused our country. It may take some years to realize what a horrible thing they have done, but it will come if they live long enough.

My thoughts exactly..in fact I've posted this same thought but in diff words.
One of my brothers voted for BO and defends him to the T. My eldest brother and I theorize that the other one has voters remorse but won't ever admit to it. So, his only alternative is to defend the scary man.

Given that there was no other choice in the election I don't think people regret their vote. I'm not going to drag her name up again but you know what I'm talking about. THAT would have been scary.

I don't think Obama is a bad guy at all. He holds ideas that many many other great people in this country, and our history, have held. We have got a walloping big difference of opinions within our country and the fact that many people don't have the same opinions as the President doesn't make them any better, or any more correct.

Is he kidding?

Hasn't his mantra been that MD's order too many tests (due to malpractice of which is the root of health care problems btw and he won't even talk about fixing/putting caps on THAT) because they don't want to get sued?

Why on earth then, would a very scared of litigation MD, take someone's legs/feet of without documentation that their legs/feet were DEAD AND IN JEOPARDY OF BECOMING GANGRENOUS???

I thought this guy was educated? He obviously has NO knowledge of how the healthcare system works. At all.

A HUGE amt of documentation is needed and IN THE CHART way before anyone even comes CLOSE TO LOSING A LIMB!!!

Now, in Canada and Uk for instance, ppl are TRULY losing limbs but you can bet your bottom-dollar it's not because the MD's are making $, it's because of their SOCIALIZED HEALTH CARE there. (negligance and an hugely overwhelmed and poorly run system)

And you all want that.

p.s. Oh and btw, whomever gave me a rep point and posted this:
Stop using your children to get out of your continually failing arguments. Do you realize you aren't the only person with kids on this forum? And provide a link to the article next time. It's the polite and legal thing to do.....
Why didn't you sign your screen name? As for being a poster on here, and having kids, that is a scary thought. Many of you are on here with 'constant and consistent' posts from what I can tell when I come on here and browse back......if you are the ones with kids, WHO IS TAKING CARE OF THEM WHILE YOU OBSESSIVELY POST?
And next time, don't bother giving me a rep. Thanks but no thanks. Have a great evening.
Oh, now we have "smug." Obama's "smug."

Well, I guess it's better than "uppity."

Why is he "elitist"? Because he's better educated than you?

Because he doesn't pretend to be some good ol' boy from Down South?

Only Americans want dumb Presidents. Only Americans could feel threatened by an educated leadership.

Oh wait. I meant, "a black educated leadership." Sorry.

It's wierd isn't it? And the same people who have such a problem with Obama for being "elitist" fall in love with people like Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin for seemingly being "average..just like them", even though they know nothing about them except that they said something they agree with.

Unfortunately, America has a history of a certain segment of its citizens being anti-intellectual, suspicious of higher education. It goes waaaay back. They are easily threatened by words they don't understand, by people who are not like them, by subtle reasoning, etc. That's why they like morons like Sarah Palin. She makes them feel good about themselves because she's just as dumb as they are. The only problem is that they don't get the "dumb" part.

This whole "Obama" is ruling over an Evil Empire crap is the same old stuff that happens every time there's an epistemological shift in the culture. Do some archival research on public discourse prior to the Civil War (if you haven't already). The stuff circulating crazily in the culture--EVERYwhere--was about as crazy as it is now:

OMG! If we abolish slavery, black men will roam the streets at night and rape innocent young white women!
(similar to: OMG! If we have a public health option, Obama will establish death panels!)

or

Slavery is good because it's in the Bible, and if you're against slavery you're not only anti-American, you're also an atheistic devil!
(similar to: Corporate health care is good because it's capitalism, and if you're in favor of a public health option, you're not only un-American, you're a socialist/communist/fill-in-the-blank!)

or

OMG! Ending slavery will result in the destruction of the white race through mixed marriage! And the Bible CLEARLY states that Cain is evil!
(similar to: OMG! Gay marriage will result in the destruction of the sanctity of heterosexual marriage! And the Bible CLEARLY states that homosexuality is a sin!)

Ad nauseum. Same old crap. Every time.
