What the left fails to grasp is America has always been a conservative society.

It is going to cost them more dearly in 2010 than anyone can imagine.

Americans will learn to be a more fiscally conservative. Social conservatism will go the way of the dinosaur, though.

and that's what makes it nauseating like hidden quasi-nazism. actually, that's what i felt from these 'conservative' types, they are like quasi-nazis. the religious, racist rightwing. a honestly frigging ugly lot of people if there ever was one. sharklike too, reminds me of stormfronters but they think they are the greatest, kindest, moral etc. reminds me a lot of my racist, republican stepfather who thought he was above everybody and could do no wrong. in short, conservatives don't make things necessarily better. they inflict their own brand of slime and damage as well since they also think their '****' don't stink. lol

Just an observation, but politics tend to be cyclical. When you elect a President who is perceived to be more liberal, conservatism always gains traction. Added to the fact that when economies go into recession, especially severe recessions, populations that are more mindful of personal spending project that fiscal conservatism even more onto their government. So, newly elected "liberal" President, compounded by a difficult economy, and a rise in conservatism would be the expected result.

I am sure the young people are becoming more religious, more interested in subjects like abortion and really crazy about guns. There are lots of young people moving to places like Kansas and Oklahoma. Sure!

He is more corporatist than it seems everyone realizes since I'm pretty sure someone is going to call him a Marxist in 5 minutes in response to my post.

"Conservative" differs from state to state. Someone who calls himself a moderate in Alabama would probably be considered a conservative in New York. In states like California or New York, even Republicans probably have to be pro-choice on abortion in order to have a chance to win. One of the leading Republican candidates for governor in California is in favor of same-sex marriage.
