It's what it's always been, a tooth and nail fight by the special interests to maintain the status quo - where have you been?

Analysis: Liberals tired of health care compromise - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_health_care_overhaul_analysis - broken link)
I think Republicans are the biggest problem this country faces, and a problem continually plaguing the world as well. We saw what 8 years of their "ideals" can do. Frankly, they should not be at all involved in discussions. National Health Care program is on the table and Repubs did not one damn thing to advance an alternative solution to this problem during the 8 years they were running rampant in Iraq acting like swaggering pirates. While the health care system in this country was not fit for the time of the Neanderthal, they were content to sit on the porch, strumming the banjo and blowing in jugs, picking their noses in unregulated bliss.

Republicans are part of the problem, not part of the solution. This is clear in these discussions. Obama should tell them to go to hell, while his administration designs and implements effective programs that Republicans can't begin to understand.

The GOP does an excellent job opposing solutions to problems Democrats call attention to.

This is simply not true. States do not stop insurance companies from selling insurance in their state. They state the rules for which insurance companies must abide by. The insurance companies have a choice to follow the state's rules or not do business in that state. This is no different than any other corporation choosing to do business in a state. The state can set the rules. This myth is perpetuated by the insurance companies in an effort to not abide by state insurance rules. Without state regulation of insurance companies there would be no regulation.
On the one hand you have all of the states rights people complaining about the fed being involved in states business, but when it is inconvenient you want the fed involved. Shorebaby, I thought you were better than this arguement.

And since the Dems do not need any Rep support, why is it they can't agree on a bill? It is because the far left and the just left of center can't agree.

Can you count? In case you do not understand, the DEMS are in firm control and the Reps can do nothing to stop them.

Geez. It is not about left of center right of center. Look at the Dems who are opposed and who they received their campaign contributions from and you may get a hint as to why they are opposed. For more insight look at the big Republican pharm give away under Bush and then look at who the republican sponsors received their contributions from. You can find it all out under opensecrets.com. This is all about special interest groups from the PHarms, Insurance, and the AMA.

Liberals, the Left and many Dems are stunned and infuriated that citizens aren't showering them with Rose petals and slobbering with gratitude for rescuing them from the "Nightmare" of the Bush years. They haven't a clue.

The scenario is akin to a girl who, (with good reason) dumps her boyfriend for abusing her, only to realize the new Boyfriend is worse.... Buyers remorse and all that.....

The 1st Party to tone down the incessant social engineering and get back to defending State's Rights, upholding the Constitution, championing smaller Government, advocating lower taxes and the development of vibrant business and economic climates, will enjoy broader-based support.

Many citizens recognize......little of the preceding is high on the current Administration's agenda.
