Geez!
Reagan was way ahead of his time.

YES, and also keep on letting illegals in since they're so great at being dependent, then our country will be finished sooner.

It's all a game and the medical community and Medicare know it. Why not let the government get out of the way and let the free market set the prices so competition will work? I don't want a politician getting between me and my doctor and my medical treatments. Look at the Indians and how the government run medical system is a travasty for them. Take a lesson from them.
This rings true. The Indians made dependent by the government is not a pretty picture medically or financially or socially.

And of course you can't take it away from it's recipients. They have paid into it and are dependent on it. Their options are limited, that doesn't make it a good system.

If medicare was operated in the private sector the way it's operated right now the company executives would be headed to prison.
Good to hear another post that knows what they're talking about.

Obama administration and other experts say $550 Billion must be cut from Medicare to save it. This is why seniors of both parties are upset. They don't want Europe's socialized health care, such as UK's not paying for stents after age 59, and not paying for hip replacements after age 80 something?, waiting too long for surgeries and chemotherapy UK and Canada.

If you are under age 65 in California's government healthcare right now which is sliding scale, you wait many months for a referral to specialist and for surgeries. Was not able to get appointment for primary care for an entire year, they kept saying call back in three months all filled up. Horrible results, finally diagnosed in ER but too late. When I did get in, only because they changed their appointment system, primary care tried to treat me but wrongly while waited for referral to specialist which took another whole year, so more bad results. I could write a book on it all and what I've seen for other patients. Maybe this could be our new health care reform, what we are headed for now or in the future.

People on universal care in other countries say it only works when you are well. Those people who are on it now want out of it, but will they ever get out of it? They are wondering why America wants to do it.
You may know of medical people who are begging for a job but around here hospitals have to offer special incentives to get doctors and nurses to work for them. They can't find enough medical people so they have to compete for them.
Perhaps they don't want to live in your state and that is why they are having a hard time recruiting them.
