Who says it's not coming true now??? Medicare is broke but it is all some people have who paid into it. SO I KNOW LET'S MAKE MORE PEOPLE DEPENDENT BY PASSING OABAMCARE.
LOL, "creeping socialism" ca 1961. He should have been a comedian. He could have been Johnny Carson's replacement.
None of these dire predictions have come to pass.
That's what is so funny. The right wing parades this around, yet fail to recognize none of it happened. If I remember correctly the horrors predicted were a reference to Medicare, which obviously the majority of seniors are quite happy with. So other than showing how stupid they are, why post this video? The only thing it can prove is that they are wrong.

"They" have been talking about Medicare being 'on the verge of bakruptcy', etc for decades. Hasn't happened yet. Nor has 'socialized medicine' come to pass in the 48 years since this video was made.
Thank God. Yes, our whole health system is built on the Medicare model and that is what is wrong with it. When my hubby worked for four doctors he had to play the game of charging too much so the insurance companies would deny so much and pay so much. It's all a game and the medical community and Medicare know it. Why not let the government get out of the way and let the free market set the prices so competition will work? I don't want a politician getting between me and my doctor and my medical treatments. Look at the Indians and how the government run medical system is a travasty for them. Take a lesson from them.

Just what are you thanking God for? Your post is an arguement against the insurance companies. Right now, that is who is between you and your doctor and your medical treatments. Go read your policy.
I can pick my own doctor, I can pick my treatments and not be told to wait six months for treatment and live with the pain. That is what people are saying---for the most part they are satisfied---stay out of my medical plan.
For those who can't watch the video, here are some of the predictions Reagan claimed would rain down on us if we followed through with broadening Social Security to include Medicare for seniors.

This is a freedom that I wonder whether any of us have the right to take from any human being. All of us can see what happens once you establish the precedent that the government can determine a man's working place and his working methods, determine his employment. From here it is a short step to all the rest of socialism, to determining his pay and pretty soon your children won't decide when they're in school where they will go or what they will do for a living. They will wait for the government to tell them where they will go to work and what they will do.

As I said in another thread, Nancy's astrologer must not have gotten ahold of him yet, as those were pretty bad predictions.
Well if anyone is totally depending on Medicare they are not smart at all. My parents always had supplemental insurance. Most people do. They had Blue Cross/Blue Shield. What Medicare didn't cover, BS/BS would. If you don't have supplemental insurance you are out of luck with only Medicare.
There IS a doctor shortage and a nurse shortage. As ol Barn says---where in the universe do you spend most of your time?
