That sounds ridiculous....Please explain how and who gets power from universal health care, other than the people who are freed from the burden of worrying about their health and that of their loved ones.

Bottom line, no one in Canada goes broke because of healthcare. It accounts for about 60% of personal bankruptcies in the U.S. Nations with national healthcare have better outcomes than in the U.S. Things seem to even out after age 65, when Medicare kicks in.

Obama gets votes from citizens looking for handouts (democrats) and big money from Pharm, Ins companies and their lobbys. There are a million different angles a greedy power hungry politician could use to generate money and votes from such a huge issue. Health care is like 1/6th of our total economy. Anyway there is volumes of this stuff all over this forum maybe you have your head in the sand or plug your ears and go nah nah nah nah nah when you hear or read something that doesnt fit your political bent.

To suggest their is no greed and power grabbing over health care as if Obama and the dems are some altuistic benvolent and caring group of politicians that only have the people who are dying in the streets and being shoved off cliffs in mind is naive to the point of ignorant

And that doesnt even consider the increase in taxes (according to the SCOTUS) fines, fees and robbing Mediciare to pay for the ACA. This bill is a comprhensive cluster funk it needs to be scrapped and the real issues facing health care dealt with one at a time

Observation and comparison combined with a human benevolence for a neighbor....don't be a prick. The fact is national universal health care is expensive but it works... You are either a united national family unit or you are not...Why does the every man for himself attitude seem to prevail in America? Your whole system of existence seems to be only about money and the mindset of "Don't you dare touch my stack".....America has a lot of nerve calling themselves the UNITED states...You don't look very united to me.

Actually, it does not only operate more effectivly, it is also much cheaper than the current setup. The US system costs 18 % of GDP, other nations average 9 %. The entire US military budget is less than 5 % of GDP.

Yeah that would be a very serious situation all right. Not at all like these, eh?

Yeppers, delay versus outright denial; I guess I can understand why you would prefer that you have to engage one of the plethora of legal agencies advertising on every tv channel down there to petition on your behalf while you or your five year old are dying of a serious illness; it is after all, the "manly" way to go.

Corporations run America - Private insurance companies that provide health care coverage are corporations...Corporations are not about to get out the the way to allow universal health care...The businesses look upon people as commodities - and because the dollar and profit rule American culture you will NEVER have public health care for all- cos money is more important than human life in America...The false flag of socialism is raised when debating health care in America..this is lobbied into position by the corporations who want to frighten Americans into thinking that taking care of each other through common health care is some COMMUNIST take over...it's not.

People in America react to public health care the same way as they reacted to communism back in the day -The Red Scare is still being utilized by big business - to ensure - that people who fear ill health and death...pay through the nose to these parasites who feed on the public through obscenely high health payments...AND if you get sick enough and your treatment might be deemed to expensive - the private insurance companies will dump you and say "that is not covered"
