Didn't South Park have them all going into an underground bunker to hide until Obama was gone?

Yea, I got a good laugh out of that one too.

Hmm, that was pretty simple, wasn't it? The decision was made by the Education Department. The entire speech was PRAISED by former First Lady Laura Bush - who for some unknown reasons disagrees with the naysayers.

I wonder if the irrational morons who are prematurely b*tching about Obama's (inoccuous) speech to the school children will feel as stupid Tuesday night (post-speech) as the rest of us know they look right now?

Wrong.

Obama has not done anything to divide the country. In fact, he's made numerous attempts to reach across the aisle in the name of bi-partisanship, despite Republicans consistently remaining the party of "No." Contrarily, the right-wing has done everything in its power to encourage divisiveness among Americans over the past 8 -10 months. Republicans have perpetuated division...not Democrats, and certainly not Obama.

Wrong.

"People" most certainly do trust him.

Right-wing fundamentalists, tea-baggers, birthers, deathers and Limbaugh/Hannity/Beck followers don't trust him, which is no great surprise, since most of the above-mentioned probably wouldn't trust any Democratic POTUS and many of them probably wouldn't trust any black POTUS, regardless of his/her "performance."

He didn't divide anything. At least no more than any other Presidential election divides between "win" and "loose". People have CHOSEN to keep themselves separate because, well, there are many theories about that. But it's nothing he has actually done as President that caused that. And it's short sighted to say you don't trust him without looking at the situation in front of you. You may not "trust" him to present a health plan that you like, but that has NOTHING to do with "trusting" him to give a speech to the youth of America. If you can't focus on any given issue due to the "distrust" you feel then there is no way you can be objective about anything and should probably just go about your business and avoid commenting on the topic.

I'm not sure I agree with the assertion that Bush was treated the same way. The outrage against Bush was rooted in undeniable failures: lies about war, Katrina, invasion of Constitutional rights...

I feel like the outrage against Obama is rooted in conjecture without any gerounding in reality and excessive fear rooted in lies and propaganda. Just look at the way the right has twisted the health care debate with lies determined tov sink Obama rather than create a better health care system.

I hold many xonsercative values, but cannot support these fear-based, irrational liars when all evidence suggests Obama's pretty darn moderate in reality.

Which speech did she see, the original speech or the rewritten speech?

So right-wing fundamentalist, tea party people (they're not tea-baggers and you know it), birthers, deathers, and limbaugh/hannity/beck followers are not "PEOPLE"? What are they then? Mutant subhumans?

Did anyone see the story about the mass hysteria taking place recently in western China, centered in the city of Urumqi? There was a contagion of fear that people were being pricked by hypodermic needles in their sleep or otherwise when they weren't aware of it. They were seeing red spots on their arms and legs, often from insect bites, and reporting them to doctors as being needle punctures. The doctors reported to the local authorities and media that almost none of the cases were needle marks. But the hysteria continued to feed on itself. The fears were being driven by the political anxieties about conflicts between the Han and Uyghur (minority, and historically Muslim) ethnic groups about political control. There had been a report of one person who had been stabbed by an Uyghur with a hypodermic in an isolated incident. Somehow the incident became inflated to become mass hysteria.

You can see some of this phenomenon happening in America just in the last 7 days about the Obama speech in the schools. It is irrational fear based on paranoiac thinking and self-fulfilling reports about political antagonists.
