CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time - Blogs from CNN.com

Thank you, Mrs. Laura Bush.

To me-it does not matter if the president is Republican or Democrat as long as he or she is passing a long a good message to my child. I think the outrage over this is crazy.

I have always thought of Laura as having a great deal of intelligence and class. She has once again proved me right.

when did the white house admit it screwed up? are you talking about the fact that the discussion questions were changed?

why do you think that any attempt at compromise is an admission of wrongdoing? is compromise such a foreign concept to you?

anyway, good on laura bush.

I agree; she is more genteel than either her husband or mother-in-law. Mrs. Bush understands the importance of education and is far too intelligent to buy any of the GOP nonsense about "indoctrination." Children deserve to see that education can take you to The White House or outer space or the depths of the oceans...what kind of people would object to their child hearing that study and work are the keys to success?

I read the article and I have to say that it didn't give me warm fuzzies, like she was saying it in that southern "nice" way. Hmmm? Maybe it's just me.

May I remind you that Laura Bush has nothing at stake, here? She has no children in school to be indoctrinated? Thus, nothing to worry about.

It's THE LESSON PLAN THAT HAD PEOPLE UP IN ARMS! NOT HIM TALKING TO KIDS! People keep spinning this as if it's the speech....the speech .....the speech. No! It was that freaky lesson plan!

I respect her and her husband. But this is not a surprise to me. They both have bent over backwards to give Obama the benefit, while Obama has done nothing but continually back-hand Bush.

Well, didn't Obama listen to the people who were "up in arms" and tweek the speech and lession plan suggestions? Sounds to me like he is bending over backwards to make people happy. Yet...you don't sound happy at all. Why is that? Don't you like having a President who listens to peoples concerns?
