Ahhhh, Another "Those G-dam Uppity Negros" thread.
Has it ever occured to you that NOI and the Black panthers do not represent mainstream Black American thought? Of course not. But I do know you'll spend the rest of this thread telling us white racism is exitinct, and that bigotry from white america is all one big consipricy devisied by Hilary Clinton to take money from "Real Americans" (Who strangley never seem to be of color....). Becuase after all, everyone knows the KKK, Ayran Brotherhood, Stormfront, et al don't exist and were all created by ACORN as a hoax.
Why does it seem that blacks justify or excuse black racism? Example Louis Farrakan (anti-semtic) (anti-white) The New Black Panthers (ant-semtic) (anti-white) as well as pro violent toward whites. Why doesn't Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton speak out against this ?
I used to think that the likes of Farrakhan and the Black Panthers/New Black Panthers were on the fringe of black society. I have come to realize that this is not the case. These people along with Jackson, Sharpton, Wright, etc. are just the most vocal of what I now believe to be fairly mainstream black thinking.
There is a sizable segment of the black community who simple do not like the United States of America because of past wrongs perpetrated against them. They harbor bitterness and resentment against white people. During the Jeramiah Wright flap there were many blacks who thought his rants were mainstream heard in many black churches across the nation.
So to answer your questions:
1. Blacks justify and excuse black racism because of their bitterness and resentment against white people for the wrongs perpetrated against them in the past.
2. The likes of Jackson and Sharpton do not speak out against it because they agree with it. They think that whites and the United States of America owe blacks a debt that cannot ever be repaid. They have an entitlement mentality that saps any initiative they may have had. They are owed and should not have to compete for a decent standard of living the way the rest of us do. They feel as though if they are not simply given a decent standard of living they are justified in taking it.
This entitlement mentality is the reason that many blacks will not achieve much on their own in this country. This entitlement mentality is why they vote overwhelmingly democratic and support social/socialist programs such as a single payer, government run health care system that will provide them with decent health care at little or no cost. This entitlement mentality supported by Jackson, Sharpton, Wright, etc. exacerbates low black achievement and is a drain on society.
There will always be people who cannot achieve and will need to be carried by society. However, the number of non-achievers in the black community will always be higher than it should be until they eliminate the entitlement mentality.
Attempting to reason with you about the racial inequities that persist today would be as useless as a blind man turning around to look.
You are correct. There are racial inequities that persist. For example, lower SAT scores for blacks. For example, lower graduation rates for blacks. For example, higher crime rates for blacks. For example, higher illegitimacy rates for blacks. For example, lower IQ scores for blacks. For example, higher AIDS rate for blacks. Just to name a few.
Has it ever occured to you that NOI and the Black panthers do not represent mainstream Black American thought?
No because it never occurred to them that black people are capable of having individual thoughts - they think we're just one big collective mass feeding off the thoughts of Sharpton and Jackson....oops I better get offline and go back to being oppressed.

this is why the question was asked. if one is looking for a anwser.they must ask the question. thank you for your replys
Please forgive me if I am wrong, but wasn't his mother white?
He is mixed race. Perhaps if people start seeing him in that light, there won't be as much divisiveness?
Boy, I'll tell you, I just don't know. I really wasn't surprized to hear people on blogs kicking up this racist thing, but I was shocked when beck announced that he thought President Obama was a racist.
If people would like you say view him as mixed, it might even be worse.
I've known people of mixed origins, and they have it even tougher, because everyone who sees color or different kinds of eyes, or different customs always has to ask the question that most people will not, which is, what are you, black? white? asian white, and so forth. I've seen it happen to my friends, and, it's unpleasant and uncomfortable to be asked such questions.
I used to be married to a hispanic female, and my kids are multi-cultural, but fit in well or better here in new mexico than they would in other states or communities. After we moved here to new mexico, it seemed our kids were a good fit, people stopped peering at them with evil eyes. And trust me, a parent recognizes these little dirty looks in supermarkets and malls in predominantly white areas.
So, we think racism is gone? It is still alive and well. And, it's not a liberal or conservative thing either. Alot of it has to do with upbringing, how parents taught their children in the early years of life.
We taught our children acceptance of different peoples, and that the people they came into contact with everyday, are people, just like us, if the question was ever asked. Most children, from an early age do not recognize color or nationality. Our children played and went to school with all, therefore, they only asked why johnny was this or that once, and the correct answer given by accepting parents, and the subject was never brought to light again.
I like the movie, to kill a mockingbird, because it shows how people can overcome stereotypes, and how some cannot.

[/quote]You should come to SoCal sometime. You'll find enough hispanics to give you those evil eyes and little dirty looks in the supermarkets and malls. RACISM = WHITES ONLY? WHAT EVER!
