Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) gave Republicans his most direct warning to date that he is prepared to use a procedural maneuver to pass healthcare reform with a simple majority.
Reid told Republicans that he would prefer to pass healthcare reform under regular order but warned that he would not hesitate to use budget reconciliation if the legislation stalled in committee. The Senate Finance Committee began marking up a sprawling healthcare reform bill on Tuesday morning.
Good. I say let the Dems go this alone. The only reason they are looking for "bi-partisan" support is so they can point fingers. I say this is all on them. Own it. Get some balls and own the piece of cr*p bill and pass it already.
But even with all Reid and thug co bullying, people don't want it.
BTW, this is the same Harry Reid who said in 2004 that SS would not run out of money for another 50 years. According to the CBO, it starts running a deficit 2010-2012. Yeah go ahead and pass your POS bill.
He has to do this. health care reform is a make or break for the democrats and for the President. If they fail to get anything it will be even more damaging to them.
