Was this part of the "guided lessons" that went along with the president's speech?

I'll have to ask if any liberal here that strongly disagreed with Bush's policies would be offended if that was their child and they were praising Bush?

That appears to be in a church which would make it irrelevant to this discussion at least compared to the Obama video which appears to be taken inside a school.

If the Obama video is a private school or not a school at all then then it 's really none of anyone's damn business what the children are being taught. It's when the public education sytem enters the picture it becomes an issue.

The kid in front had nice jazz hands, LOL. These kids have more of a grasp of the issues than many adult Obama supporters do.
We did songs praising the founding fathers and Lincoln when we were that young. Never a sitting president. That display was pretty sad.
Oh well. When I was a kid we were forced to learn metrics and were told it was the way of the future. Having just learned standard measurements only a year or two before, I thought it was stupid. Either what they taught us before was wrong or what they are teaching us now is wrong. I grew up with a dislike of metrics and a questioning of educational agendas .
These kids may well grow up with a dislike of Obama and forced socialism. One can hope.

If the Obama video is a private school or not a school at all then then they are both irrelevant. It's when the public education system enters the picture it becomes an issue.
I do not think that it becomes irrelevant. I don't agree with indoctrinating kids in any church, school etc.
I also do not think that Obama is the first president being praised in a public education system. I also do not think that kids in other western countries have never praised their president.
As I said, I disagree with praising anybody. Even God. Why should kids be taught to praise God if the cannot comprehend God/religion at that young age?
Do you disagree with that as well?

What I don't like about the thread is the connection with Hitler Youth. Kids were sent to Hitler Youth to be prepared for war. You might check that for yourself. I think the thread starter and his/her supporters are using this as propaganda which was part of Hitlers strategy as well. Calling Obama Hussein, like one did in this thread, is propaganda as well. If you do what you criticize, that is hypocritical.

I also recall when they had a school program in grade school about energy. This was under Carter. We did a government sponsored program about the different energy sources. Kids had to be the different energy sources personified. Coal was dusty and dirty, Oil was greasy and left a mess, nuclear was hot and dangerous. Solar was warm and friendly. Yes, they pushed solar as the power of the future.
All of us boys of course thought nuclear power was cool because of mutations and radioactivity and monsters and superheroes. So take that, Captain Planet.

First, I am not a "leftie". I have christian family members, that does not make me a Christian. He is not muslim, calling him Hussein is plain ignorant.

You can disagree with it all you want, you can show your disagreement by not being a part of that church. You can keep your kids out that church. The government has no business dictating what people can or cannot discuss, praise or talk about unless it crosses the line into criminality.

On the other hand public schools are taxpayer funded from people with many opposing views many of which are not too happy about this President and hi policies. If they want to teach the kids about Obama that is fine, I'd encourage it but you cross the line when you have them praising someone.

I think kids should not be taught to preach any politician. But what you do is propaganda. You send the message as if its the first time kids praise the american president. When did kids not praise the american president? It is not the first time. My video proves that.

And second, Hussein Obama is not his name. He is not a muslim. Why are you calling him Hussein? That is ignorant.

American kids are being indoctrinated in churches as well. Aren't you scared of that, too? Or are you ok with that?

I'd like to see it. Got a link, or did you simply invent a convenient distraction?
