obama is certainly sending mixed signals on international relations. after talking about diplomacy and stating that he would like dialogue / interaction with iran, he then "discovers" this "secret" enrichment plant and threatens increased sanctions (after sanctions were already extended this year), while not ruling out military intervention. he has definitely assumed a more hardline approach in the last few days.
in afghanistan, obama escalated the troop action and now needs time to "think" about what he wants to do with the troops. what is the plan? either reinforce or call it a win and come home. we have troops over there getting killed daily.
i bet most americans do not want more spending on wars or fighting in wars!
Absolutely agree with this. obama is acting like rumsfeld.
Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates, doesn't agree with you. What do you make of that?
What I make of it is....Obama is the commander in chief and Gates is the secretary of defense. That makes Obama the BOSS and Gates is going to say what Obama wants to hear...Nothing MORE nothing Less.......That's the way the chain of command works...
stating it and actually doing something is totally different now isn't it?
Yes, you would think so but to some numskulls, they see no difference. As long as it's Obama in front of their eyes, that's where the insults are directed. Pretty childish & ignorant, don't you think?
Obama seems to be just using Bush's old book: "The US Presidency For Dummies."
He seems to not want to rock the boat diplomatically or make waves with foreign powers but is content to gum up the works domestically.
Bush sure put the North Koreans in their place did'nt he, he just threw money at the most repressive regime in the world.
