You would think that "deciding what strategy to pursue" in Afghanistan would be just a little more pressing for the Obama than jetting off to lobby for his Chicago peeps.
So is your issue that he's going to the Olympics or that they're flying separately?
First of all, flying seperate....what a waste of fuel if they can be on one plane...she could leave the at the same time...there isn't any reason to fly separate...She isn't part of the government like Biden and Pelosi, which i understand that they can't be on one flight.
Second, no other president has done this, and of course Obama needs to be the first one...., the economy is bad, health care reform is something he want to shuffle down our throats without ever even explaining the details, Iran missille issues, etc... enough that the Olympics aren't that important. I know that the Olympics can be an economic stimulation for a city but also a economic faillure and a huge money waste....specially the security will cost so much.
Third, don't think Obama would have gone if it was any other city!
But las but not least...Obama finally can add one thing as an accomplishment if Chicago wins!
I like movies - there kind of my thing and every time someone blasts Obama for doing something that every other POTUS has done because "we weren't in a recession then" or "but the world wasn't about to end then" I always think of Men In Black when Tommy Lee Jones tells Will Smith that the world is in danger every day and we just don't know about it.
Granted I personally don't see the importance of him going to the Olympics, just like I didn't see the importance of the other presidents throwing baseballs or playing saxophones on the Arsenio Hall show but I didn't really question it.

Obama is the first president doing this!

Obama did throw a baseball just as George Bush, the difference was that Obama threw it the same way as Miriah Carey, which was great for her...but for him....:D
If you think Obama is doing this for America...then think again.
All of his Chi-town thughs (Axlerod, Daley, etc) will make millions if not more if Chicago is picked. And the American taxpayer will be left with the bill.
President Obama will travel to Denmark on Thursday to lend his weight to efforts to land the 2016 summer Olympics for his adopted hometown of Chicago, the White House said Monday
Barack will leave on thursday...Michelle will leave on Wedsnesday....can't they travel together to save some fuel and money?
Obama will be the first president ever to make a trip like this to lobby for the Olympics.....so another record/accomplishment , and this during a time that more and more people are losing their job, health has to be pushed trough by his government, Iran is firing long range missilles....Wow, this president really know his priorities!
A. You are not "green " so what do you care?
B. I cannot believe that there is anyone who doesn't know Presidents travel....
Really? I doubt that seriously but, I'd sure like to see a link to that
