We must get that bunch under control because that other 70% may not be trustworthy either.

Interesting. The NYPD committing more felonies outside their jurisdiction. Too bad more states won't go after them like VA did.

And they proved only that gun laws will not have any effect on criminals. Laws that say guns can only be transferred at a dealer...will simply be ignored.

Do you have any suggestions on how to better keep criminals or people who wouldn't pass a background check from getting guns?

Keep dangerous people in jail. They get short sentences and are back out in no time at all...

Things such as this have..what, exactly, to do with law abiding, honest firearms owners? Like so many people on this forum, including myself? I have owned and used firearms my whole life. I currently have 32 in my safe. None of them obtained illegally, or ever used for illegal purposes. So, why are there so many folks out there who want to see my rights to own and use firearms restricted, or eliminated, because of those who ignore the law? There are enough gun laws on the books already, all of which the vast majority of gun owners follow, enforce them. Put the law breakers in jail, but, leave our firearms rights alone. Leave me alone. If someone does not like firearms or shooting , fine, don't tell the rest of us we have to feel the same. Quit trying to make more useless laws, by citing examples of already existing laws being broken.

Good. Get the guys who were willing to break the law and arrest them. We already have laws on the books to deal with this. We don't need any more.

Nothing.

This isn't about people who can pass a background check and buy a gun legally. This is about the ease those who couldn't pass a background check are able to buy from shady gun sellers. If you don't fit in this category then you have nothing to worry about.
