It's going to creep up even further. There won't be any extra hiring this Holiday season and that would have at least given it a small decrease in unemployment.
Didn't Biden tell us just yesterday that we have added 1,000,000 jobs?
This is an absurd thread. Since when has the Right ever made such an issue over unemployed people? And what for? For their concern of how the jobless Americans will survive? Don't bet on it. The Right couldn't care less about the plight of the unemployed. I wouldn't doubt that the Right would like to see the numbers of unemployed rise, just so they can stick it to Obama.
I wonder if anyone would care to research the Right's attitude about unemployment during the Reagan era when the numbers hit double digits.
When did the Left start NOT caring about the UE? You MUST remember when UE under Bush was 5-6%, how the Left would rail about all those "underemployed"?
What happen to the concern - we're closing on 10% and all of a sudden, it's just no big deal?

Numbers might even be worse than the worse official numbers.
Article talks about the birth/death model. 2008 birth/death rate was 135K (new jobs added). For 2009 it's 184K. Even in this recession with mass layoffs the government thinks more new jobs are being created this year over last.
U.S. Job Losses May Be Even Larger, Model Breaks Down (Update1) - Bloomberg.com
Snippet:
"About 824,000 more jobs may be subtracted from the payroll count for the 12 months through last March when the figures are officially revised early next year, a Labor Department report showed today. The revision would be the biggest since at least 1991."

Oh lol. Do retailers think they are going to have a bang up holiday season ?
My son told me that the Wallymart near us put up the Halloween stuff last week of August when the school stuff got cleared out.

Is this something new? Hobby Lobby had the Halloween stuff out before the 4th of July. Always has.
