Adolf Hitler was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by a member of the Swedish parliament in 1939. Yes, it was retracted shortly thereafter. However, this was also after he conquered the Czech republic and annexed Austria.
I'm sure somebody punched an All-Star ballot for Bob Uecker too. Big whoop. Some Hitler admirer nominated him. Nomination =/= winning. Just ask John McCain.

What?????, a lot of crazy people voted for david duke for president, and obviously not elected, who cares!!!
We should just rejoice in that we have a great president that is admired all over the world, and not a clown that lied to his country in order to send our soldiers to die for nothing in Irak......

I'd definitely like to see the citation of Bob Uecker being nominated.

There is a difference between an election by citizens and that of a hand selected committee. A subsection of the former is assumed to vote for fringe elements out of ignorance or prejudice. The latter is not.
Just wondering if the votes for him were because they are liberal like he is or because he's black and the first black president. I wonder if he had had the same policies and been white if they would have voted so heavily for him. Maybe both? I know the Nobel voters are generally liberal but I wonder HOW "left' they are.

I mean for the baseball all-star game, brainiac.
