Click his link and you'll see that someone has created an Obama flag. It's the American flag without the stars and in place of the stars is Obama's face. it was on sale on ebay and other sites.

They're even telling people to take the flags off their cars. Most are ignoring the order and challenging management's decision. Good for them.
I agree that it's total BS but their lease may say they can't have anything hanging from their apartments and this has only become a big deal because it happens to be a flag. The so-called news reporter should have asked one of the residents to see a copy of their lease to see if everything hanging from apartments is prohibited. Also, I wonder if the person that asked them to take it down is an employee (like a property manager) or the actual owners of the complex. Just because they sit in the office, doesn't make them important especially if the complex owners are a corporation that own multiple complexes and just hire people to run them. If it's not in the lease, the residents should go over the head of the people in the office.

The one with the flags on the car should tell them where to go.

Freedom,
You obviously never lived in an apartment complex or condo. Freedom is just another word in these places.

There are a ton of flags with different images on them, not just Obama.

Native American Vets have had one for years, that they carried in all the parades here. Enterprising businessmen have created many for many different reasons (mostly profit).

There was a few years ago one with Reagan's image over the stars and name across the stripes. No outrage then.

Wasn't there a Bush-Cheney 04 confederate flag? (or was it just a pin)

What link? If you'll notice, his post that I quoted had no link, just that statement. So there's an Obama flag, woopdeedoo, I'm sure there've been flags made of other politicians as well.

Yeah that's never been done before. My son has a Mickey Mouse flag. Looks pretty much like the American Flag except Mickey's face is there instead of the stars. We got it from a store around Memorial Day.

And the flag should NOT be displayed on your car. Not even as a decal, because proper respect for the flag means that it is not to be turned into a decal to begin with. Flags are supposed to be removed in inclement weather, and at night.

Strike the colors.

I'm saying that they're not picking solely on the American flag, but ANY flag or banner. Just like you can't burn a cross in front of your apartment, or grill burgers on your patio (at least in THIS apartment I live in).

Are you kidding me?
This has nothing to do whatsoever with flag etiquette 101. And no where does it say anything about flying another countries flag. This is calling out the flag of THIS nation. A citizen wanting to fly a US flag does no harm to a soul, unlike the risk of grilling a burger on a balcony that could catch fire. Those two aren't even remotely comparable.

The citizens of this country have every right to fly the US flag and if pompous jerks such as these want to take on this fight, then GOD bless them, they sure will need it. But, they are probably foreigners anyway...

Actually they said no flags at all

Many apartment complexes have this same policy. I had to take down my Seminoles flag when I lived in an apartment....the owners were probably Gator fans...I should have sued for discrimination

Poor reporting. Poorer posting.

Funny how the lady who doesn't drive, drags the flag on the ground, but no protest there......

Where in this article does it say she drags it?
Where in this article does it say ALL flags? It says sports flags (whatever that is) and flag stickers on cars. But that is not confirmed....So

No they didn't, it is hear say. The management will not answer questions, so it isn't confirmed. But the one thing that we do know is that people have directly been told to remove the US flag.

A sports flag of a team and the US flag are two different animals.
