I remember to War on Drugs, and then came the War on Terrorism, but when did we start making war on the elderly?

Why do Americans give greater value to the young, when all of our cultural roots are steeped in honoring the aged?

Where did we go wrong?

How will each of us cope with this, when we reach the age where it is OUR turn to be defenseless?

Actually, you're exactly 48 years late. The war on the elderly coincided with the inauguration of John Kennedy in 1961--the second youngest President (at the time) succeeding Dwight Eisenhower (one of the oldest at the time his term was up). Ever since then, it's been young young young. And never more blatant than in the slogan popularized during the mid-60s, "Don't trust anyone over 30."

It wasn't so stupid of Oba mao to propose taking away $500 billion from those old people over the next ten years. That was the amount he proposed wasn't it? He said that it was just for corruption in Medicare but surely that could have been taken care of without instituting what he hopes will become socialized medicine at the expense of old people.

I don't accept your thing about me being stupid because I am one of those old people. In fact I might even . . . . . . . . . .

You beat me to it, its part of the Obama plan, steal from those who have earned a living and hand it to bums on the street because it is their right and it is owed to them.

+1 for you.

Obama would love to just take everything they have and give it to Acorn so they can pass it out to those poor soles who have never had a chance and have been held back.

Oh, I see that you said on Coronation Day, war was declared on stupidity. I thought you were talking about the thread title.

I guess you haven't heard Bill Maher talking about how Oba mao has to take them, you, me and the rest, by the hand and lead them to socialized medicine because they are all so stupid. Maher didn't say anything about only some of us, only them.

He was talking about redistribution of wealth during the campaign and is still talking about that so I guess you are surely right.
