In another thread a poster who's name I won't mention; let's just call him New Mexico Lake, was going on and on about how racist the south is. In that thread I informed him that it was us, the racist rednecked southerners as he so kindly referred to us as, who elected and nominated the first India American governor and Vietnamese American congressman.

It was also us conservative racists that nominated and voted for three different black gubernatorial candidates; Blackwell in Ohio, Swann in Penn, and Steele in Maryland. it was the "enlightened and tolerant" leftists that voted against these black men.

And it there were a lot of white conservatives who were disappointed that Condaleeza Rice chose not to run for president even though she had been strongly encouraged to by many in the Republican party.

Wow, imagine that. If Condy had won the nomination, Republicans could claim that they are not racist or sexist, while the Dems would be stuck with only claiming they are half way not racist....

You do realize that Cao won because of Jefferson's corruption and he happens to represent the most liberal district in Louisiana right? Also Steele ran for the Senate, not Gov. All three lost because they were Republicans.

You do realize that Cao still had to be elected right? And you're right about Steele, my bad.

I think I know who you are referring too.

Just know that not all liberals thinks conservatives are racist. I certainly do not.

Amazon.com: The New South, 1945-1980 (History of the South) (9780807119440): Numan V. Bartley: Books

This post is quite comical if it is attempting to deny the South's natural magnetism towards racism. The South's essence is, racial obsession. Yet, are you really surprised, I mean only idiots would claim superiority on the basis of phenotypes. By the way, before you post such jibberish read the book above.

Yes, and while he is a Republican he was elected in one of the most liberal districts in the south.
