If this is not racist I dont know what is why must we first look at the color and then talk about what they did this should be insulting to theese 2 men. it sounds like you are saying it is very rare that a black man would help anyone and there for your shock,and at the same time very proud for this very rare deed.I know this is not the case there are good men and there bad men let us not asign color that is racist
The video may have neutralized one stereotype but it perpetuated another one. At least for me it did. LOL

Nowhere in the video is a lone or pair of white males placed in the same situation so that a fair comparison could be made and no lone black females or couples are tested either, but that does stop the OP, and most of the black respondents, from drawing a broad and convenient conclusion. Truth is what was likely left on the cutting room floor were any instances of blacks behaving in an embarrassing way like walking by without helping. If you're a white male you already understand that if someone has to be the sick pervert on TV, it's a white male. Females generally get a pass because they don't want the N.O.W. showing up and blacks will always cry racism. Facts be damned, they know they can't have blacks walk by and have a couple white guys come to the rescue, and they definitely can never, never ever have a black perpetrator.
For the record, "You're not my dad" is something a spoiled rotten brat says to his or her stepfather. If the producer had a clue, the child would have yelled out "He's not my dad" since the two involved would both know that already.
first, i wish that 1) race was not mentioned as an issue at all in showing the video (because it certainly did not cross the mind of the "rescuers" as they attempted to help a white child), and 2) that we could see more examples of people stepping up to the plate to help each other out. we are seeing so much bad behavior being rewarded in this country that it is truly touching to see people trying to do the right thing to help each other out for a change. i would love to see more examples like this of people doing good things! i think it is good for america to remember that there are a lot of good citizens out there!

The point I made in starting this thread is that I generally see (young) Blacks as criminals or ppl who dont give a damn (I know sad huh?) and this video turned my stereotypes on his head.
I was shocked that the two black kids were looking to help out in that manner.
Like I've said many times I feel the video is a positive for these young blacks in the mist of all the negatives we see on tv/videos showing young blacks being violent (recent Chicago beating)

Oh please, the media does this to everyone. If the anarchists (mostly white) riot, the mainstream media reports on it for maybe one day. If a bunch of black folks riot, the media harps on it for several months or years. There isn't some vast anti-white conspiracy going on here.

This is a good point since it's true no group of white males passed by in the video. For the record, I'm a white male and I can't stand it when people stereotype about sex crimes and whatnot. White men may commit the majority of these crimes but the key fact misunderstood is that we are not overrepresented. We commit the most because we are the largest group of males. Looking at that sexual offender database of my area I can see that whites most certainly do not have a monopoly or even a clear majority of "pervert" cases.
That said, I think the issue of bystander syndrome needs to be addressed. It's definitely not true with white males everywhere--and I suspect it has regional influence--but you cannot deny there isn't a widespread attitude of "someone else will take care of it". Why take a risk when it's the authorities' job? This nanny-state mentality must be fought and to do so there must be attention on it.

That's assuming that all of the sex crimes involve children. One could also assume that these sex crimes include groping and lewd acts towards other adults. What I would really like to see are sex crimes stats when the victim is under 13 or when there is a 10 year age difference between a minor and the sex offender.
