Evil, self-serving and void of a soul is very often thought of as defective. Psychopathic, I believe, is the techinical term.

I think she's doing exactly what she needs to do to run for office. She's solidifying that core conservative base. And part of that base is made up of birthers and extremists. However much she subscribes to their positions, she's going to carefully avoid disavowing them. And she's working the talking circuit, making appearances, making speeches, writing newspaper columns, appearing on Hannity, all while painfully stressing that she's just a mom, her priorities are shuffling all five to their various school and extracurricular activities. What that says to me, is she's trying to fly, but stay under the radar. And using her father as point man is a strategic choice.

The launching of that new website, and the amount of networking she's doing, all suggests that groundwork is being laid for some pretty ambitious plans. Not rural Utah.

I'm not going to waste my time over the fact that you can't get your head out of the past and into the present. Your problem.

I'm not sure where this post came from, or what it is in response to, but you do an excellent job of taking people's words out of context.

I think it may be a sign of intellectual laziness when people refuse to actually separate and examine various aspects and statements of public figures. It's important to be able to look at the cumulative weight of a person's career and achievements. But it's also important to be able to objectively look at singular moments or statements in a person's life.

Ernest Hemingway was a great writer. He also lived large. He had a strong personality. We don't dismiss what he wrote because he had alcohol problems and bad marriages and ended up suicidal. We don't label his writings as communist rhetoric because he lived a portion of his life in Cuba.

People live their lives, and in the process they are both creative as well as pragmatic. Appreciation for the creative aspects of a person's life can be separate from understanding the pragmatic choices they made.

And I don't believe for a minute that all the conservatives bashing Obama and his administration are incapable of this kind of introspection. Some of it is just partisanship, but some of it is simple intellectual laziness, with a little bit of dishonesty thrown in.

When did I say Anita Dunn was taken out of context? Are you lying when you say that? Are you a liar? Or perhaps your accusation has a context? Which is it?
