America's soul is lost, collapse inevitable Paul B. Farrell - MarketWatch

This makes for a cheery morning read, especially considering the source.

So, is just more scary doom and gloom or an honest appraisal of our future?

Funny thing is the market is going up, not the other way around. When even one prediction comes true maybe I will be more open to such thinking, until then I will maintain the attitude that we as a nation are strong enough and smart enough to bounce back on our feet and keep moving ahead.

IT IS ALL CAPS DAY ..lol

having watched the market and traded for some years now , I can tell you that , in the long run, the market will do the most 'it' can to make the rich richer, and to hurt the common man the most. the dollar is of no value, so 'gains' are diminished when valued in dollars. bonds are going to lose, as interest rates climb. the Obama-Bush bailout benefited the rich , and didnt create one higher paying job for the working folks of america.
the market is a big casino to me. The only refuge in all of this has been insurance companies, in the past.
the best investment is yourself , you family , and discover how to get bail outs/subsidies from the govt, convert that into gold or the franc, and move to Rio..lol

Yep,...the stock market is up,..so the economy is just "hunky-dory"...

Well,...if everything is so great, why is there so much unemployment?

If the economy is so great,...why are companies still laying off workers?

If you use the stock market is the only indicator of economic stability,...then you are foolish.

Keep on whistlin' through the cemetery....

If you believe in trickle down economics, then we're okay. The folks that control the money and now even control how much there is of it will make sure everybody else gets taken care of. They have the taxpayers securing them with the very money they create so it's a no risk situation. We're no more at risk then we were last year at this time.
Keep your head stuck firmly in the sand and this "recovery" looks pretty good.
But the government will take care of everything so who cares anyway, right?

Both.

America is really in a bad place at the moment. With rising debt and deficits and weakening dollar, collapse is a possibility. And between eight years of Bush the Lesser and a possible eight years of Obama, America will probably be truly screwed.

However, it is not impossible to stop it. However, that would mean cutting spending, making it easier to do business, and temporarily adopting a non-interventionist foreign policy.

But it ain't going to happen.

Darn right it will not happen. Americans can no longer accept individual responsibility. Accountability is gone, self reliance is gone, Political correctness, bailouts and handouts to the irresponsible are the way of America now.

I hold responsible: every congressman or woman from the past 10 years, President G W Bush, President Obama, and every Nanny state Governor in America.

Thank you For ruining our Nation!
