Some argue that the women's movement has caused more problems than its been worth, even claiming that dual-income families have driven up the cost of living.
Now this is actually something I have thought about. Would there be increased wage jobs if there were less in the work force? I grew up with a SAH mom. BTW I have worked my entire life through raising two myself.
I don't know about American society in general but for my Mom it was good. When my Dad left us he left my Mom, brother, and I to fend for ourselves. The fact that she had a job allowed her to provide for us and make the house payment. Plus, when he asked to come back, she could afford to tell him "no" because we did not need him. We never looked back...
If the argument is against dual incomes, then who's to say it should be the woman who should stay out of the workplace? That's a logical fallacy.
Can someone put forward a more reasonable argument against women in the workplace? Or perhaps make a separate argument against both spouses working at the same time?
Or should we just write this off as another nonsense thread?

It was the thread about a woman being "forced" to wear diapers to work that inspired this thread. I have a feeling that the men she worked with wished that they could have kept women out of their work environment.
