OZARK, Ark. -- Ozark police said they were called to a home where a mother asked for help with her unruly child, but the 10-year-old's father said he's outraged at the force police used against his daughter.

"I would like to say Ozark police Tased this little girl right here. Ten years old and [they] shot electricity through her body, and I want to know how the heck in God's green earth can they get away with this," said the girl's father, Anthony Medlock.

Sounds like it was justified.

Emotionally unstable and a kick to the groin. If he didn't get her under control, she could have posed a very serious threat. Tazing her probably did less damage than spray or physical force would have.

Sounds stupid to me. Why does it take a police officer to taser a 10 year old having a tantrum? lol Seriously, that is shameful on the part of the parents and the police. The daughter has a psychiatric disorder and is probably on medication that isn't helping. Ritalin and prozac have already been proven to cause a lot of problems, including mood swings and violence.

A pysch disorder means a lot more than a tantrum. If she was extremeley violent and resistant, physical force to restrain her could have resulted in broken bones or dislocated joints on a frail 10 year old frame.

Taser did the least damage of the options available to the officers.

I'm going to have to go with love.doll on this one.

A good whuppin' can do more for a child than any teacher, drug, or officer using a taser ever could.

Me thinks the kick to the groin brought out the taser more than the child's tantrum. The police seem to be taser happy anymore. Little kids, old ladies. I usually side with officers but I am finding it harder all the time.

I think that Officer safety is should be the first concern. The 10 year old that will not obey authority figures, mother, father, and officer needs to be controlled and if that meant a quick shot of electricity then so be it. The parents called because they needed help and they got it. If they were so concerned then so would be the Officer. If he would have laid a hand on the child and she got hurt would the parents still scream excessive force, hell yes. I wish people who call for help would stop complaining when help arrives.

A police officer from the South is abusive toward a member of the community. We shouldn't stereotype the South. This is just another coincidence.
