Then how come the black community is so reluctant to denounce them? It doesn't add up.
Black community denounce? The media are the ONLY one's that boost these two up, not the black community. Big Perm and Messy Jesse do not lead or represent the black community, sorry that does not fit your denouncement theory
I hope you are right about the declining influence of Jackson-Sharpton. The black American community has come a long way since those two first rose to prominence as spokesmen for black Americans.
Its sad that you really believe that...sad and also telling.
Jesse Jackson is an idiot. The NAACP protested proposed cuts to Medicare Advantage in 2007 because the cuts would disproportionately negatively impact low-income and minority seniors. Why is Jackson okay with that now?
The NAACP's 2007 position on Medicare Advantage (MA = Medicare Advantage):
NAACP: "MA plans — private health plan options that provide coverage to 8.3 million Medicare beneficiaries — disproportionately provide coverage to low-income and racial and ethnic minority beneficiaries. Specifically, 40 percent of African Americans without Medicaid or employer coverage rely on comprehensive health insurance coverage provided by MA plans. By providing more comprehensive benefits and lower cost-sharing than traditional Medicare, MA plans help racial and ethnic minority populations gain access to health care services that are critical to their long-term health and well-being." Is Jackson really on board with accepting less access to comprehensive health care for low-income and minority seniors now? Why?
Then how come the black community is so reluctant to denounce them? It doesn't add up.
Because a lot of blacks don't even really consider them leaders in the first place and many who do view them more as vague figureheads and not people of any actual importance.
I find some amusement in the fact that Jesse Jackson is promoting poor stereotypes about black people. He implies here that if you are black, therefore you are indigent and stand to benefit from single-payer healthcare.
If black americans disagree with Jesse Jackson, they don't seem to be doing a very good job of demonstrating that. In the 1988 democratic primaries, he won over 90% of the black vote in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
Black community denounce? The media are the ONLY one's that boost these two up, not the black community. Big Perm and Messy Jesse do not lead or represent the black community, sorry that does not fit your denouncement theory
Then denounce them publicly already and stop being scared to do so.
Because a lot of blacks don't even really consider them leaders in the first place and many who do view them more as vague figureheads and not people of any actual importance.
Then they need to state that publicly. The silence is deafening. Actions speak the loudest, ignoring it will not make it go away.
