He will not be able to tell if he signed anything that won't add to the deficit.
It will be years before that is determined. By then his promises will have been forgotten, like the others have.

LOSING faith in America NOW.
If you lost faith in the american system of government and both parties years ago, (pre Bush sr.), what took you so long to lose faith in America? Just curious.

I wish I could take a comment from a Republican seriously. I have a hard time getting over the fact that conservatives proved over 8 years of Bush that their judgment stinks. Their political instincts suck! Their ability to find solutions to the problems that plague this nation are nonexistent. Complain about this administration's national health care plan even though you regressives didn't put forth one idea on this over the 8 Dubya years. You haven't a clue and you simply complain not because there's any SUBSTANCE to your observations, but because you want the Obama administration to fail, period. What a pathetic bunch. So your "rational" look at the details is about as useless as a blind man turning around to look. I hope you get better.

President Obama is not even a year into his Presidency and he 1) has ended a recession that took Bush 8 years to build; 2) is on the verge of passing national health care; 3) has mended relations with national leaders around the world so collectively the problems each nation faces can be resolved; 4) has wisely decided to try the Guantanamo detainees in federal court, with the ability to not only effectively prosecute these criminals, but also to expose the gross incompetence and gross violations committed by the military under Dubya and the Regressives; 5) he is effectively addressing the unregulated bliss the regressives enjoyed, one that caused this economic mess; 6) is intelligently and methodically working through the problems that Bush neglected.

Great to finally have an articulate, intelligent, versatile, and qualified President working these problems. [MOD CUT/flame]

His HC reform isn't PRO-LIFE and NOTHING in it will make this a BETTER country, I assure you!
And yes, I AM a conservative and have NEVER supported ANY massive spending by either party!
I NEVER supported the war either.
Well, then that would be true of any bill anywhere. You can't predict the future, so I guess it's just a crapshoot. That aside, CBO has claimed the proposed increases in revenue will offset the costs. Good enough for me. Up to future Congresses to undermine that balance. Can't hold Obama accountable for that.

After Clinton's presidency, they predicted a significant surplus by 2009. The Republican-controlled government ruined that solid fiscal management obviously, but you can't hold that against Clinton. (not saying a Democratic controlled one wouldn't have caused problems - it's when they're balanced that we seem to do best).

You know, usually the motion to proceed to debate is never a big deal, never held up and never made to be such a big deal. If he has this much trouble just moving forward to debate...imagine trying to get 60 votes on actual passage of a bill.

But, this vote does leave open now the possibility of reconciliation.

The democrats, including obama, were all too willing to filibuster SCOTUS nominees...that is when a coalition that included some moderate democrats said enough. Is obama whining about his judicial nominees?

I remember when the Republicans thought they were going to have a 30 year rule of power and tried to abolish the filibuster. To his credit, McCain stood up and said, "Hey, we might need this someday."

Sure enough, they're breaking records with their use of it

Pay closer attention to what I said, OK?
I'm LOSING faith in America.....now, more so with THIS administration and THIS Congress.

LOSING.....as in PRESENT tense!

LOST......is PAST tense, as in....it happened already.

You must be a victim of our pathetic Liberal education system....and for that.....I am truly sorry.
