Well now that we have seen the side that supports this silliness of two parents in the guise of a ten year old claiming to have gay friends it is time for the other side to jump in.

Yes it is your right to not say the pledge of allegiance, but I respectfully ask that you keep you hands off of it and the way it is written for those of us who know God exists and understand that while not everything is perfect in this country it is still a hell of a lot better than some of the alternatives.

Meanwhile, carry on with you protected free speech.... after all that is why I wore the uniform of this great countries military so that you could continue to have that right.

God Bless and good night.

I would say in a Righteous world that "Jay" would be arrested and "Will" would be put in counceling(cant spell this one) but real world the father needs to be put in his place as does the child for disrespecting my country in favor of blasphemy. AAARRRGH this article pisses me off!!!

Oh, you served in the Continental Army? My hat's off to you my good man.

If you didn't, take your free speech crap and kindly place it in the nearest wastebasket. One ACLU lawyer is more use to free speech than 100 redneck baby-torchers.

In a righteous world you would be placed in a straight waistcoat and taken to a place where you'd be treated by those guys who make $125 an hour.

Bugger "your" country.

Good for Will Phillips. The Pledge as a part of grade school classrooms ought to be scrapped anyway.
Yeah....right along with American History and the US Constitution.
ALL worthless crap that you Libs. sure don't care about......just if your gay feelings aren't offended, right?
Go blow your snotty noses on the American flag.....before you burn it.
Sorry, but the "Pledge" never succeeded at brainwashing ME.....not like Obama's desperate attempt to do so with school kids, anyway.

WHY....don't you ALL just move to China or go sit in a sweat lodge in Arizona.....forever?
Just vanish.

The funny thing is in most ways I'm not all that liberal. It's that the Republicans have gone so far down the road to the loony bin that everyone else has been forced in the other direction by a mere sense of decency. I'm talking about the new Bizarro mental world in which the Republicans live, the one in which anyone to the left of Ayn Rand is a liberal and anyone to the left of John McCain is a Marxist.

Nah. See, we don't need a pledge to remind us that it's our patriotic duty to keep political power out of the hands of raving psychotics.

Maybe you don't, but why deny others who want to show their respect for our flag and country ? Why wish it were scrapped altogether ?
Don't you respect others right to do just that..pledge to the flag and our country ?

YOUR "solution" to 8 years of Bush.....is nothing more than CRAP and you're sooo proud of it.

Yes, but not in classrooms with captive audiences by people on the government's payroll. If government schools teaching a pledge of loyalty to the state is not Orwellian, I'm not sure what is. I'm offended when my kid's teachers send home anything remotely political (like about school funding votes, etc.) even if I agree with what they are saying. Total conflict of interest.
