OK so 2012 is here. You have had 4 years of Obama. Here is his grade card:

1. Economy: GDP is at about 3.5%, unemployment is still high at 8.6% but has been declining. Inflation is a moderate 3.1% for the prior year.

2. Iraq: We are still there but troops have been drawn down to 40,000 from 140,000 and are largely kept on bases outside the major cities and no longer do patrols in the cities.

3. Afghanistan: The war rages on with no end in sight and Obama is talking of a withdraw as all the European allies have done already.

4. Health Care: They passed a bill but it was weak and has had only a marginal effect on the number of uninsured and the skyrocketing cost.

5. Iran: Obama was much more sucessful here. He managed to get Russia and China to convince Tehran to deal. Tehran did not agree to quit nuclear projects but now will allow a full inspection regime to ensure that they will not use nuclear for weaponry. In return Obama agreed to lift all sanctions and promised to not attack Iran in the future.

Assuming this, here are your choices:

Since "anybody else", wasn't a option, I'd have to go with Obama.

Interesting take on the Palin obsession.

Sarah Palin, weapon of mass distraction

"By attacking the former governor of a state smaller by population than Westchester County, a woman whose chances of being the next president are about the same as Nancy Pelosi’s, Democrats aren’t wasting their time at all. They are distracting conservatives and changing the subject."

There are always third party choices, even if those two are the Republican and Democrat nominees.

No third party choice? I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils --- the last time I did that, I helped elect W and I still feel a little dirty.

But, between the two.....well, lets say that Obama will definately be on the ticket in 2012. Palin? Well, if she is then that could only mean that the GOP has finally capitulated to the Southern Evangelicals once and for all thus the rest of the conservatives will either join the Libertarian party or make an actual conservative third party without the religous overtones and fiscal irresponsibility of the current republican party.

I never thought I'd say this........but I hope Palin is on the ticket after all
