...."In his Powerpoint presentation available on the Emerson Electric Web site, (CEO) Farr notes that the federal government is damaging prospects for U.S. economic growth with a $1.41 trillion federal deficit (10 percent of GDP); $12 trillion in government debt that will grow to $20 trillion in 10 years; a policy of printing money; a "non-targeted $800-billion stimulus"; bailouts for Wall Street and the automobile companies; the prospect for cap and trade legislation; a "government takeover" of health care to the tune of more than $1 trillion; increasing taxes and regulations; and a "lack of U.S. $ support" for manufacturing. The global stimulus "soon will fade," says Farr.".......

Yep, and it all started on 20 January 2009.
It's Obama's fault.

I don't agree.

What thoughts lead you to arrive at those conclusions?

All of the problems we have started on 1/20/2001. Don't you know the FACTS?

Ron Paul tea party movement? Libertarians after about 2003? Are you fixated only on the Bill Kristol Trotskyite wing of the neo-con movement?

I think we can all agree that there is WAY TOO MUCH Government intervention regardless of who is in office. We need to start removing these idiots from office, reducing government irresponsibility and spending and start giving the country back to the people.

You know, businesses could be a bigger help if they did what politicians seem unable to do. Tell the public how much their product or service will cost an individual (before and after price) if a law is passed and/or whether they will have to lay off people or go out of business and how many in their company will lose jobs.

Lay it on the line, manufacturers. Our XYZ product costs $200 now and after the ABC bill is passed, we'll have to charge $250 for the XYZ product and lay off 300 people that make it.

Lay it on the line, service providers, The XYZ service will cost $20 more than it does now, we'll have to lay off 2,000 employees and you will wait approximately 2 weeks longer for the service.

You have to make it real for an individual or this stuff is going over people's heads.

The days of big government being over are over. A nation of 300+ million people plugged into a globalized world of twenty times that cannot get by with some non-interventionist equivalent of a village council of elders. You are going to have big -- and then bigger -- government no matter how some might whine and cry about it. The only actual issue is how to make that government work best for people. Our Republican friends have no idea...

LOL. That's what the insurance companies tried to do with their "big report" on how health care reform was going to drive up costs and therefore premiums. Only their methodologies were so corrupt that they got laughed out of town for it.

Corporations exist to lie in their own interests. Just watch their ads some time. They don't care what's true and what's not. They care whether people buy their products and services so that they can make a lot of money. Starts there and ends there...
