Pollster.com: Obama as Reagan
The most crucial driver is not the economy; its uncertainty. American's are uncertain about the economy, healthcare, unemployment, Cap and Tax, two wars, property values, devalued currency, national debt, national deficits, etc. etc. This was reiterated forcefully at the Jobs Summit last week.

One could argue that American's were worried about similar uncertainty during the days of Reagan, but at least American's had checks and balances on their side. In other words, I don't think America will rest easy(ier) until they know unchecked Democratic power in the legislative and executive branches is put to a stop. To the extent that the average American has any control over these uncertainties, at least.

What the heck happened here? Climategate and obama's insistence of ignoring the scandal OR his terrible speech on Afghanistan OR his ridiculous jobs summit photo-op?

Maybe all three?

He is a record setter for sure.

He has set so many records in his first year we won't be able to keep track of them all.

And wait until these numbers drop to the low 40's in the next few months, his followers will be going nuts trying to find out who to blame.

YOu cant compare fairly a past political climate to a current one.

You may as well compare him to Taft, or Lincoln, or Thomas Jefferson. Utterly irrelevant data.

They have to try in order to explain away his total tanking in the polls.

Oh, this is funny. So now, the same people who squeak with delight when they see Obama's poll numbers drop by 1/2 percent are suddenly saying that the polls don't matter.

Just watch: Tomorrow, when Rasmussen releases their daily assault on Obama, they'll be trumpeting the news.
