How do you mean, in the sense that does my family want something for nothing then NO.
But we all need the government for certain things. Our Military defending us, yes we do.
But are you speaking of FEDERAL GOVENMENT or counties doing task like roadwork etc.If your speaking of someone who is going to milk the government dry, then NO.

Yes for all the things enumerated previously (roads, military, things beyond my control). I only get irked at the folks that play the system. I think the health care system needs to be affordable. Not sure the Fed is the right outfit to do it or that they are going about it correctly. Although I believe their heart is in the right place, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. And that worries me. How about some tort reform first.

So many know think they are entitled to things. IE Healthcare best example

This country has gotten lazy and greedy and when you put the combo together you have a dangerous mix. Of a group of people that want something for less.

Another example handing out awards for simply playing baseball come on now that is telling children to settle. You dont have to work hard to be a winner whats the point you still get an award and you can play video games instead. What message do people think that is sending our youth. You dont have to work hard is the message its sending.

They don't mind the government going to war or preventing the president from speaking to school children but get their panties in a bunch because someone is receiving food stamps. The government is no bigger than it has been. Just because they don't interefere when you want them too does not make them bigger.
Taking care of children and taking care of able body adults isnt the same you all really should stop trying to compare the 2

Protecting the country is actually the job of the gov

President speaking to school children is fine asking those children what they can do for the president is wrong. Ask Cubans where that gets you or Saddam

Food stamps is fine for those trying to help themselves but sadly to many abuse the system

When we have a gov trying to tell college sports team how it has to have play offs . No one say gov isnt bigger. Sorry

Soon as the gov stops taking the money out of my check I would be happy to not get that check as a senior. Gov cant handle money or havent you seen the debt we are in. Havent you seen how broke ss and medicare both are

Heck look how well the gov handle the Indians money.

So gladly get the gov to stop taking that money out of my check each week and I will be responsible for my own retirement

A government should help, not hinder. It is important that the government weed out the professional slackers and parasites who always seem to have a constant crisis, and endless sob story, when in reality, they are quite capable of doing some kind of work, even if part time.

Another who will reject social security old age pensions and Medicare when the time comes. Who will never accept unemployment benefits if/when layed off. Who would never accept SSI if he/she or a dependent were disabled.
