He didn't DO anything. It was what he said, what he "promised" to do regarding global cooperation and disarmament among other things.
He won over 205 other names.

Those guys should have checked that website to see how Obama was doing on his promises before they voted for him.

Accepting a Peace Prize right after ok'ing 30K more troops to go off and fight in a war. Think he felt uncomfortable accepting ?

The right thing to do was to not accept the peace prize. Unfortunately politicians NEVER do the right thing. The war in afganistan is useless & obama has alot of people convinced hes the messiah. The 2nd lady oprah things hes doing a bang up job. Oprah only cares about oprah & is obsessed with money. Oprah annoys me.

A. what does Oprah have to do w/anything? & B. as a matter of fact, Afghanistan has always been where we should've been focused. Are some of you annoyed because Afghanistan is now "Obama's" war, not Bush? If we kept focus on Iraq, would that be ok because it was Bush's baby? Or would you all turn against that because now Obama has to deal w/it? LOL, it's so predictable when the whining starts. Keep in mind, you guys were all for war when it was Bush going into Iraq which had really nothing to do w/anything. And now when the attention is finally turned in the right direction, you guys are huffing & puffing....I wonder why?

It's the PEACE prize wedjat, not the WAR prize. You think out of the 205 names that Obama, based on promises only, deserved that prize ?

Honestly..Obama is on the same playing field as Mother Teresa ?
Even Jimmy Carter worked for years at peace and democracy before he got it.

As much as I like President Obama, I have to admit that even I do not see the reason for him getting it.

Ah, the irony. Accepting the Nobel PEACE prize while sending troops to Afghanistan. Now, I know that the wars were under Bush, I still do not understand what Obama did to get nominated.

HappyTexan makes a good point. Jimmy Carter is a great man and did a lot for humanity before he got it. Same with Mother Theresa. Obama? Not yet....if ever....?
