How bad does it need to get for you or your family, before you need to find another country to move to?

Please describe the worst case scenario, not just politically, but personally, economically, etc.

A job and a work visa waiting for me in Europe?

Yeah, probably that.

So it doesn't have to get bad at all here? What is the draw of Amsterdam? Pls don't tell me about the hashish cafes.

I changed it to Europe more broadly.

I've lived in Europe before, it has its problems, sure, but, overall, I liked living there. I'm not saying the United States is bad at all, but it's all it would take for me to leave this country and go live elsewhere for a while (which is a far cry from leaving indefinitely or renouncing one's citizenship).

I take it you were asking, though, about how bad things would have to get in the United States. I'm not sure I have an answer for that: total martial law would be one thing that would cause me to leave, I suppose.

I stuck around during the Bush Administration, which I thought was opprobrious.

The conditions of this country 7-8 years ago until now....I just don't have the kind of money it takes to move to another country....and Canada is too damn cold!

More of this doom and gloom and grass is greener b.s. I would love it if some of you would leave this country and live somewhere else because you find it so appalling here. I know that all of you will eventually move back and not admit that you made a mistake and that the U.S. wasn't as bad of a place like you thought.

Oh my my...look who's all knowing and wise....

It's that ego-centric , unsophisticated, untraveled, unwordly, ILL-informed arrogance that other countries love about Americans.....

It doesn't have to get bad. I already want to leave and if I could get citizenship in a country that afforded me better economic opportunities and nationalized health care, I'd be running towards the plane.

In the mean time, I'm just saving up to pay immigration fees.

I'll move when someone can pry the American flag from my cold dead hands.
