The german UHC was introduced in 1883!!! and Germany only spends a part of what the US spends for health care but at the same time, the german system is more efficient.

Alex, I'll take "Newfoundland's contributions to the modern world for a trillion dollar debt please."
Screech, fish, oil, Shannon Tweed, and Newfie jokes.

But really, the rest of the world shakes it's head at the outlandishness of claims made by anti gov't health care forces - starting with gov't health care = Communism.

Yep, Germany then must have been a communist country since 1883.

When headshakingest person that I've met so far was the anesthesiologist who freely admitted that he would be making far, far more money in the U.S. but felt that the arguments against the public option in particular were just unbelievable!

Look, I would LOVE it if this country had UHC if it was affordable and efficient. But I simply believe that due to our population and huge diversity (along with corrupt politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle), it won't work here. I can and will go into my reasons later, but I do understand and believe those of you that want UHC are earnest in your beliefs; I DO believe you want what is best and I believe that you are good people. But there are a lot of things preventing UHC in this country from being successful. I'll get back with you later...

Interesting, I was under the impression that the majority of Americans wanted some form of single payer universal healthcare, just not healthcare as outlined in present legislation on the docket.

Although to be fair, the US technically has had UHC through the HRSA since the 1940s. If they do not treat you they at least help push your Medicare/Medicaid paperwork so you can use a private hospital.

i think healthcare reform is important, but not this plan. let ins co,s sell acoss state lines. let me buy a policy that does not cover my neighbors viagra or other unessary fetishes. i already pay for thier food , housing, heat, college, etc. paying thier free health ins is just not affordable. and how about tort reform? give us choices not gov mandates
