Well it doesn't take a college degree to realize that no spending bill will ever SAVE money.
They are spending more than they are cutting back and they have not taken insurance/drug increases of 10% or more into account.

The government has never "saved" us any money but they sure do know how to spend it and then justify it with words of "saving". And they never look back; they never study past bills to see how far off either they or the CBO was and take that into account for future spending.

You are citing the Washington Examiner? Please spare us! Glenn Beck is more objective.

The Dems will say whatever it takes to get the bill passed as quickly as possible. Those in the know trying to get the true cost figures out will be hushed or accused of being racist and anti-american, and we the american taxpaying public will be saddled with a trillion + new entitlement program. Happy Holidays!

nothing will sink this, it will pass
did you read there is an amendment buried in there that will prevent a future congress to undo this bill?

This article, just like the OP, is an opinion piece with very little 'meat' for numerical evidence...

Here's the CBO's response...

"The key point is that the savings to the HI trust fund under the PPACA would be received by the government only once, so they cannot be set aside to pay for future Medicare spending and, at the same time, pay for current spending on other parts of the legislation or on other programs."

As a liberal and a single-payer advocate I hate this bill. But if this is the way their going to go....how about cutting the crap out of some other things to pay for it. Cut entire departments, I don't care. Just make some dang cuts!!!!
