People do a lot of things for 'safetys sake' that may not be necessary in the grand scheme of things. After all, we all lock our doors at night - yet how many houses get broken into in your neighborhood? Women are told to park under lights in parking lots and be aware of our surroundings as we go to our cars at night - yet how many rapes and/or abductions really happen? Enough to warrant making all women aware and vigilant about a crime that statistically will never happen to her?
How are these things - warding off a crime that one will probably never experience - any different then being vigilant at airports?

Whatever makes you feel safer but probably more important to wash your hands and wear your seatbelt than anything you can do the relatively few times you fly.

So do you think that attempting to screen people prior to boarding via scanners/metal detectors/do not fly lists etc.. is worthless? Or is there a better option? Or just fly and let the chips fall where they may?
I am not being snarky - I geniunely would like to know if you have a better option then attempting to 'weed out' terrorists...

Actually I'd like to see a system where you can avoid all that by getting the equivalent of a security clearance and a CAC that you would insert in a reader and put in a code to get through a gate. Everyone without would be subject to puffer machines, magnetometers, etc.
I think there's something in the conservative psyche that thrives on situations of conflict involving "us against them" (whichever it may be for a situation). They really do like to identify with a group and circle the wagons against outsiders. Studies have proven this.

By all means post a link from an unbiased source showing conservatives (exclusively) thrive on an "us against them" mindset.
lol
Did you see that the suicide bomber got on the base and into the gym ?
That guy got past military security in Afghanistan.
