(Jan. 11) -- More than 24 million Chinese men of marrying age could find themselves without a woman to wed by 2020, and a Chinese proclivity to abort female fetuses is a major contributing factor, a major study has found.

Gender imbalance among newborns is the most serious demographic problem facing the country's population of 1.3 billion, the study by the government-backed Chinese Academy of Social Sciences says.

Do you think they forgot that little problem? Think of all the females that have been abandoned to die or adopted. Then include all the aborted ones. What did they really think would happen? I don't think they will find women from other cultures willing to settle in a country that undervalues women so much.

Or maybe reverse-Mormonism will catch on.

Something tells me China will still not be in jeopardy of surviving as a nation, with or without 24 million horny guys without brides.

They gave up girls for the boys. Did they not think that sooner or later there would be more boys than girls ?

Limit a family to 1 kid and everyone wants that one kid to be a boy. Well I guess lack of girls is one way to population control.

Is this any wonder? Liberalism in practice. And we want that here? Give me a break! In the words of James Traficicant: "Mr. Speaker, beam me up!"

Actually, I was thinking add one more man who can't marry into that number -- our Chinese female foreign exchange student loudly announced to us that she was....GAY!! Take her out of the mix (and her girlfriend, too, when she gets one!).

Yeah, guess they didn't think that one through ahead of time. Statistically, they should've figured it out ahead. It will be interesting to see what eventually happens -- do the men get all testosterone-ridden and clobber each other, or do they form gangs and kill everyone? (Just kidding...but I bet there are lots of other interesting scenarios!)
