The founder of PP, Margaret Sanger, was a supporter of eugenics, and Adolf Hitler was an outspoken fan of her work. Sanger herself even outright said that birth control could be forcibly implemented in urban communities and used to cut minority populations in half.
What relevance does that have in regard to the services offered by PP in 2010?

I guess we have longer memories and remember what we were doing when we were teens. At least I do.

I wonder why the cultures that stress chastity and virgin marriage seem to have the highest out of marriage pregnancies. I also wonder if pregnancy is being used as a punishment for girls that have unauthorized sex but not for the guys involved.
It goes against human nature, that's why.

Christianity as a religion has this very special form of retardation that seems to preclude any concept of being right only for believers. As such, legislation in this country is always tainted by this religious segment that cannot seem to understand why personal beliefs in a specific mythology apply only to the believer.

Education, birth control and drugs are but a few arenas in which we've seen this insane temperance.

I want to say that I'm amused at the failure of abstinence education, but it's very troubling. How is it that we're letting our children grow up without access to real information? Things not found in the New Testament?

Sex isn't evil, teenagers are always going to go at it and I'd rather we just give them condoms and get the hell over this issue. Once and for all.

What gives any of us the right or responsibility to become involved in the sex lives of teenagers anyhow, unless we're the parents? What gives government the right?

You know, for decades teenagers got pregnant and the families handled it. It usually wasn't a good idea, but it wasn't the end of the world either. Neither was it a great concern of everyone else and certainly not an issue for government to concern itself with.

What makes today different? Is the problem itself any different, or is it just our perception of it?

To me, it's just another example of how our great, self-reliant and confident people have become a nation of busy bodies and window peepers, spending far too much energy trying to re-order the lives of our neighbors.

New Mexico led the states with the highest teenage pregnancy rate with nine percent, followed by Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Mississippi.

New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Minnesota and North Dakota had the lowest rates of teen pregnancies.

it seems that the top 5 has got some of the highest crimes rates while the bottom 5 have some of the lowest crime rates.

Is that the answer to the other post about the murder rates and why certain states have higher rates, j/k but who knows.

Funny how it follows the lines with those states, where illegal trespassers here from Mexico reside and where they don't.

Your assumptions are correct, instead of everyone putting a spin on this subject, we all have our opinions, This is an epidemic, that needs to be addressed, and fast. I have seen too many of these young girls, having babies, barely being able to take care of themselves, let alone an innocent baby. Never ever had i a problem with my grown daughter of 25, she is going to College, and works part time in a Well known department store, where most of the your girls age 18 to 21, already have kids at home, no husbands, or boyfriends, to help with the welfare of the children, and most pregnant again, and some have 3 and 4 children at home, this is utterly stupidity. They can hardly make enough to feed themselves, nevermind the children they have at home. This is a issue, that needs to be addressed because most of these young girls, can barely take care of there own needs, and this is in no way, a benefit to there children.

Haha, no not really at all. Lets see, monster truck rallies and mocking anyone who appears educated....sounds like right wing conservatives to me. Just look at the beginning of the movie a the Southern football Billy Bob stereotype. You gotta to be one blind partisan fool if you actually convinced yourself that movie is about mocking liberal values/culture.

Yeah, those back alley abortions were such a joy.
Tough sweetie, the law is the law. No one's forcing you to terminate a pregnancy, now are they.
You have a choice, so do I.
