Huh??? Polgamy is illegal in England. No Englishman or woman can marry multiple spouses whether Muslim, Christian, blue, green, or a midget.

And yes, I think arbitration tribunals are a good thing.

Legal loopholes due to laws written without any consideration for this situation. Also, keep in mind under this interpretation of the law the other "wives" are not legal wives but are are considered dependents for welfare purposes. I'm sure they'll fix it even though the debate just seems academic at this point as I don't think any of these alleged polygamists have actually tried to do this.

Under English law polygamy is illegal. It's punishable by up to 7 years in prison. If a polygamist immigrates to the UK, only one marriage is legally recognizable. Just because some Muslim dude in England claims to have 8 wives doesn't make it legally so.

I'm sure you could find analogous cases of LDS polygamists here in the US who are "married" to multiple women and have erroneously gotten benefits from it or could somehow be eligible due to the particular wording of some law. Words can be fickle things (remember when Texas accidentally banned all marriage?)
