Guys, you need to get along.
You're right. We do need to get along, but this country is currently in the throes of competing ideologies that are tearing us apart because of the very things that saved (meaning we SAVED) your continent.

The United States is not really even a "country". It is a collection of states and people that have little in common with each other. That is why it is so hard to govern.

How do we expect our politicians to get along when we as citizens can't get along? We use these obscure titles of "Democrat" and "Republican" to place blame when really the blame is on all of us.

If we the people decided to band together and work at solving issues politicians would lose all the power they hold by dividing us. I don't care if your democrat or republican, how often do the politicians actually work in your best interest?

We have so much potential...
Gtownoe ! ...

Indeed ... The Proud & Patriotic American People completely united with the dynamic & resolute leadership of "The Right Person" in the Oval Office ! Yes ... The Potential is enormous and the America I envision is most formidable on the world stage !!! Thanks / Lamar

It really would be an easy feat. I feel like the media paints a picture of America where people are ready to tear each other apart on a day to day basis.

Most of us Americans know thats far from the truth. We're overall pretty courteous people who don't discriminate, aren't racist, and don't hate their fellow neighbor because of their political affiliation. While we may be very different as far as our lifestyles, appearances, or religion...we all generally want the same thing. We want a fair system that allows individuals who want to rise to the top to be able to make it through hard work and honesty. We want safeguards in case of terrible unforseen disasters (natural disaster, laid off from work, serious injury) that will provide for us if we choose to recover in a timely fashion. We want safe cities and towns and we want a society of equal opportunity.

I don't believe most American's ideal America to be that different. While there are differences in opinion, most disagreements are minor and could easily be solved through compromise.

The only problem is that if AMERICANS start to realize this all of the politicians and financial heavyweights wouldn't be able to push their interest. The primary interest being retention of their immense wealth.
